Do you think Day-use rooms are all about Sex-traffic ? Read to know the fact….!
Hotel rooms for few hours during the daytime don’t have smartest reputation especially in India. Even though it’s quite famous in western countries but whenever we heard the word ” Rooms during daytime” , traditionally it raised our eyebrows & we think it’s gonna be used for romance but its not the same what it seems and there is a big market apart from sex-traffic where people are using dayuse room or want to use dayuse rooms provided easy to book, options to choose and most important cost effective.
I think that there is definitely a market for this. Often when I travel to smaller towns, there is a long gap between flights – Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore – and often I wish that was a comfortable room where I could stretch out a bit or catch up on a nap. I have used the facility in Bangkok and Singapore several times.Or sometimes while making a day trip for a meeting, after the meeting is over, it would be a relief to just relax in the privacy of a room.
Also one of our user ”Anshuman”comment on our Facebook page stating, he always wanted service like this as he felt need of dayuse room at Shirdi.
Major feedback and pain point what we got from our customers was regarding cost of the room and nasty looks from receptionist. Even though they are using hotel rooms for few hours during daytime and filling empty rooms for hotels, they need to shell out either full night cost or max they get 10% discount which is not value for money. Not only this, whenever they ask for dayuse rooms, looks from people around the hotel its like they had done some crime by asking dayuse rooms.
DayHalt.com arrived into the city with talk of a hotel revolution. DayHalt is an online portal to book hotel rooms for few hours during the day time at 50-60% discounted rates.
Idea is to increase revenue of Hotel by selling unsold inventory and at the same time providing value for money rooms to our customers. We have listing of rooms from luxurious to Budget hotels & apartments across countries depending on our customers need and budget. Each room is rented during day hours and once a day only.
Before Dayhalt, finding hotel rooms for the day was, if not impossible, very complicated. Availability were uncertain, quality was dubious, and sometimes, you even had to endure nasty looks or comments from hotel staff. Transactions often could only be made at the hotel, in cash. Dayhalt delivers convenience, transparency and ease of use.

In Japan “Love Hotels” are meant for sex.
Its a huge business.
And what’s wrong even if it is???

asha chaudhry
it’s not about whether it’s right or wrong…!
in india, technically it’s illegal, if i’m not mistaken…!?!?
manish wants to position DayHalt only for biz travellers looking in transit and religious tourists (in shirdi) etc…
i think this is an interesting way of creating awareness about DayHalt through a series of articles, manish…!
Manish Golchha
Correct Asha, that the whole idea behind this article. In India, for unmarried couples it’s illegal, as police do regular check of hotels & that crowd hotel people also don’t want.
Manish Golchha
There is nothing wrong sir but as Asha said, it’s illegal & most of hotels first ask the same question – what’s type crowd you are targeting for Dayuse rooms. Those families who are looking for same day enjoyment & activities we are targeting resorts outskirt of major cities for 1day outing.

Hi Manish,
I think this is one awesome idea, and in hindsight, seems so obvious.
But as you have pointed out, it comes with a problem – what I would like to call a ‘perception problem’.
And it can be tackled only by creating another perception. Let’s look at everything your business is, and the ‘love hotels’ business is not, and create a stark constrast between the two. Think of these ideas as both what hotels you should deal with, and what you should advertise.
One, it’s not a cheap room.
People in love hotels just want a room, and they look for dirt cheap rates. You don’t provide that. Therefore, target all those people who are forced to buy cheap rooms because they can’t buy a decent room at full pay for a night. The entire junior and middle management cadre of Indian corporates and MNCs, who are forced to book rooms based on budget applicable to their grade, will bless you for life, if you make them available a few hours of rest in a bed that’s not ridden with bugs.
Second, it comes with facilities.
People in love hotels aren’t looking for other amenities. But the exact opposite is true for business and leisure travellers. They may want the room only for a few hours, but they would love the internet connection, the great bathroom, the free shaving kit, and the souvenir shop.
Third, it has a good social value
Businessmen, traders and entrepreneurs have to visit all kinds of conferences, and expositions. And while they would love host meetings with potential clients in lavish hotel rooms, they make-do with whatever their budget allows them to rent. Not the case, with your offering. They can now book rooms for a few hours, host meetings in the same hotel’s coffee shop, close deals, and get it all done with going fairly easy on their pockets.
Four, it’s not a closet thing
All kinds of travellers discuss where they stayed. And leisure travellers more so. Your offering allows them to splurge on tourism and shopping, without having to stay in a dingy room. How cool is that!
This way, you can create a very positive perception around your business, and automatically push the ‘entertainment-seekers’ away.
Cheers!

Nirav
