The office environment is buzzing with Football fans, and you being one of the few unlucky souls who don’t understand football or don’t have guts to wake up late nights to watch the game feel left out?
The downside of this is, you don’t have anything to talk during lunch hours, you are no more that cool sportsfreek in front of colleagues or boss you want to impress- Can you afford to loose that status in the eyes of babes/dudes you want to lure?
The good news is you can fake it until you make it, here are some tips to help you.
1. Purchase a football Jersey – This is must have for a football fan, and make sure you wear it to office on Friday. If you are crazy enough wear it unwashed for few days.
2. Soccer Album on Facebook- This is easiest and has a instant effect, tag your friends to blackmail them to like or comment on your album.
Additionally you can use hashtags like #fifafever, #fifa2014 for getting random likes. Follow these hashtags and share random status updates on FB with tags like #ilovefifa.
3. Get dark circles below your eyes- Make sure you look like this on Monday mornings. you can get this look either by skipping shower for few days or having excessive beer.
4. Schedule a tweet/fb update for 3:30 AM (IST) – Schedule tweets for 3:30 AM, make sure you know the teams which are playing on that day. Some examples of Safe Tweets/status updates are
“dis game is going crazy, man #fifa2014!”
“Messi, you rule my heart dude #crazysoccerfan”
“Love you #Neymar”
“You know u r suffering from FIFA fever when u r waiting for portugal’s match..that will start 3:30 a.m In asia continent..#fifafever”
“my galfrnd left me, but who cares, I am in love with #fifa2014”
You can use your creative mind for more such updates. Player related tweets can be dangerous if the player has not played well
5. Understand Penalty shootout: Make sure you understand Penalty shootout, offside, Foul, Goal and few other terms, You can throw these terms on the lunch table to prove your knowledge. Be aggressive in putting across your points, even if you don’t understand the meaning of what you are saying.
6. Get a Messi tattoo- Yes, This is must have. If you are a girl, it cant go unnoticed.
7. Get new hair style- If you cant afford to have a tattoo of anyone other than your girlfriend, this comes as handy, change your hairstyle, this will earn a lot of respect and no one can miss it.

You know faking it is harder than making it, but if you religiously follow these tips you will turn out to be a true soccer fan at the end of #fifa2014, who knows!
