The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (IIM Ahmedabad) and Village Capital are holding The Last Mile Accelerator program for ventures that enable the distribution of critical products/services or increase access to energy, healthcare or education for underserved or “last mile” populations. Some Examples Include:
-Energy innovations that offer affordable energy to populations that unpredictable electricity access.
-Inventions that increase access to traditional healthcare services of otherwise democratize access to quality care.
-Technologies that enable better logistics and supply chains (e.g. mapping, route management, inventory tracking), in order to allow ultra-low-cost service delivery and generation.
Applications are open now until April 14th. The program runs from May 21st through August and consists of 3 five-day workshops in Ahmedabad, and weekly assignments that will be completed remotely. Participants will be actively assessing and mentoring each other. Trainers, consisting of leading investors and industry specialists will also provide continuous coaching. The program will end in a venture forum where all participants will present to leading investors. Two teams will receive Rs 30 lakh each in investment funding from Village Capital and CIIE.
