Dear Rodinhooders… Presenting GoKrazee a platform that connects users and brands through selfie & video challenges making it fun, interactive and rewarding for a user and a brand.
Why GoKrazee?
It started with the F word used by my nephew in his early twenties while watching a video on youtube and noticed these foot soldiers in the form of ads popping up every 180 to 240 seconds. This got me curious and I wanted to understand why millennials (15 to 30) don’t like ads.
Our approach:
- Spoke to 3000 college students (These folks really know what they want and how fast they want it).
- Did an online survey, asking Why are ads not engaging? How would you like brands to engage with you? The response was overwhelming.
- Conducted some research on Google.
Top 3 reasons:
- They don’t feel a part of it (Ads don’t talk their language).
- It’s not fun, engaging or rewarding (I want to entertain, get entertained and the Big What’s in it for me).
- No to traditional advertising (Like one student said, “How does it help by showing these ads?”).
How is GoKrazee different?
- Curated fun selfie and video challenges for users like “Make a wish in 10 seconds” Win Rs 25 from Flipkart. (Special prize for the person who can guess why this challenge for a Flipkart voucher).
- Unlimited freebies for our users every day from our brand partners Amazon, Flipkart, Shopclues, INOX, Cafe Coffee day, etc..
- Users also get free in app recharge every time they complete a challenge.
- You can even set challenges to your friends.

The economics of any “Win Free” / “Get rewards” business deteriorates really fast with scale. (I founded contests2win.com in 1998 – The mobile business of which got acquired by Disney)
As the base grows, fewer and fewer people GET something. Lots more feel disappointed and abandon the plot.

What’s your plan for user loyalty?
Unlike any other platforms, we provide users and the brands with the opportunity to interact and engage with each other through gamified challenges. In this case there are no losers, everybody is a winner. Let me give you an example. We are associated with Flipkart and one of the challenges that is currently running is “Make a wish in 10 seconds” Win rs 50 Flipkart voucher. In, this case the brands want as many people to take part in the challenges, so that people can take advantage of the free or discounted offers. Similarly, we have partnered with various brands like burger king, cafe coffee day, INOX, etc… who with offer free goodies or rich discounted coupons that the users can take advantage off. We also provide users with free recharge on completion of every challenge. We have some very innovative plans to ensure users are getting the best out of this fun, interactive and rewarding platform every day.
How does the economics work for a brand?
In some cases it is CPC and in some cases it is CPA.
How do you make money for yourself?
We make money from every brand challenge accepted and completed by the user and also the fact that we are able to show the brands anywhere between 40% to 60% conversion ratio also helps. We also make money through brand redemptions. User loyalty program is another thing that we plan to introduce as we grow. Where users can be directly rewarded through their pictures and videos.
