We are conducting a research study at FMS, BHU (Under the guidance of Prof. Harish Chandra Chowdhary- Former Dean & Head, FMS BHU) to better understand how entrepreneurs and marketers understand, communicate, and take feedback from economically disadvantaged sections.
For this study, we have defined Bottom of Pyramid (BoP) as those families whose household income is less than ₹ 3,00,000 per annum in urban areas, and less than ₹ 1,60,000 in rural areas. We believe that understanding marketing practices for BoP will encourage more companies to offer products to this market, leading to their inclusion in the formal economy, and ultimately their alleviation from poverty.
