How do I close Job Openings?

Hello Everyone!

I am urgently looking for help.

I am trying to recruit candidates for following positions since last 2 months, but it seems either I am doing something wrong or there is dearth of good candidates. 

About the Company

72interactive – A young & dynamic digital agency located in Noida. We specialize in Website Design & Development, eCommerce Solution, SEO, SMO, PPC etc. We are currently working for clients like Sonalika, Amkette, Competent, Rohan Motors, Emkor, The Boxer Store, Print a Wallpaper, Easy Wall Prints, Pasco Automobiles.


PHP Developer

Urgently looking for developers with excellent knowledge in PHP, Zend, Codeigniter, MySQL, Jquery, Payment Gateway. Must have worked on large websites & eCommerce stores, should have good command on core php, database design & documentations. The candidate should be energetic, hardworking and ready to take up new challenges.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Strong knowledge of Core PHP & MySQL.
  • Strong Knowledge of Javascript/AJAX.
  • Good Command on Payment Gateways like PayU, PayTM, ICICI Bank, PayPal etc
  • Should have Knowledge on Database Design & Architecture
  • Should be ready to work under pressure.
  • Should have good knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • Should have exp in leading a team of 5 to 6 developers.
  • Strong Knowledge of Opensource Technologies
  • Experience in PG – PayU, DirecPay, PayPal, ICICI, HDFC. 
  • Convert existing product to framework. 
  • Project Analysis & Mapping


HR / Admin / Marketing Executive

The candidate would be the part of management at 72interactive, candidate should be ready to take up multiple roles.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Excellent written & verbal English communication skills.
  • Excellent office admin/hr skills.
  • Cold calling, calling up prospects & Schedule meetings.
  • Proposal drafting & prepare presentations for sales pitches.
  • Internal & Client Communication.
  • Project Management.
  • Interpersonal and convincing skills 
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of online advertising.
  • Excellent skills in MS office.
  • Excellent at multitasking and time management.
  • Attendance & Leave Management
  • Recruitment / Candidate Line-ups & Contract Drafting
  • Marketing: Social Media / SEO / PPC etc


Sr Website Designer

The candidate would be the part of web development team at 72interactive, candidate should have solid experience in design and architecture for new media. You should be creative and artistic with professional qualifications in graphic design, hardworking and ready to take up new challenges.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Creating high quality designs.
  • Strong Website Architecture & UI designing capabilities.
  • Must have worked on Custom eCommerce Projects.
  • Candidate should be Proficient in software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, Dreamweaver & Flash.
  • A result oriented professional with experience in Web Development.
  • Should have good communication skills.
  • Should be ready to work under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of HTML/XHTML/CSS.
  • Responsive HTML & CSS.
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript/AJAX.
  • Knowledge of Flash & Flash scripting would be plus.


I have been using Naukri, I have tried their job listings and database search option, but nothing seems to be working. I am not sure on most trending job portals in India. If you feel I should use some other job portal which could give better results, please feel free to suggest.

Issues that I have faced on naukri:

  • Poor Response
  • Fake Experience
  • Candidates don’t turn up for interview even after multiple calls and followups
  • Candidates who turned up for interview didn’t have skills matching their experience.

Hence, can anyone help me?

  • Suggest, what should I do?
  • How should I close the positions?

We being a startup cannot afford a consultant and pay 8.33% of annual CTC.

  1. Even if you pay for the consultant, the talent pool is the same. He will also use same naukri portal to get the candidates. 

  2. So Chandrasekar, how do we get out of this situation and close the opening. It seems the current breed of designer and developer are not focusing on learning curve and these so called B.Tech & Training Institution are do nothing.
