  1. gosh i love the idea and have been going nuts over your product divyanshu!!

next Open House – u must talk about it and share samples with all of us!!

i reckon a whole lot of other startup folks also could use ur unique product….

  2. divyanshu – why don’t you pitch this to wedding planners? people could get their wedding invites printed on this and ask people to plant it thereafter!

big hit for diwali & christmas & valentines – plant ur love!!!!

  3. +1

  4. Awesome effort Divyanshu.. brilliant way to get your product idea across to such brands!!! Will definitely share and spread the word!

  5. How much does this cost as compared to tree cut paper

  6. Like the idea and brilliant presentations through graphics.

  7. divyanshu,

i reckon you should do a proper ppt and email it to the bansal brothers.

ping me if you need any help for anything!!

  8. This is seriously radical stuff! Never heard of such a thing earlier.

    All the best!

  9. 🙂 Brilliant..

  10. Bowled over by your idea. It has the crisp flavour of intellectuals behind it and the seasoning of a social cause. Kudos to your team buddy!

We’re in the business of making botanical/herbal extracts and an issue that re-surfaces at every conference or seminar is the depletion of the country’s bio-resources, particularly herbs of medicinal value, often rare. If I were to put an estimate at the biomass the herbal industry in India alone uses, it might touch 200-250 Tons a day.

Could you think of how you can tweak the idea to feed an industry already looking for a solution? We’ll be available to help if you want.

  11. brilliant idea and well presented.

  12. Hey man…

I belong to the paper and packaging industry and use more than 300 tonnes of recycled paper every year for manufacturing corrugated boxes. I think this idea is excellent if the corporate is ready so spend a few extra bucks on their promotion material. The market is usually very cost sensitive and difficult to crack at higher costs but then CSR comes into picture…I wish you success in your project. I am keen to know more about your product in terms of Offset printing etc. Please let me know where can I personally connect with you.

    @boxwala_

  13. Divyanshu – Awesome. Loved the findings

  14. Your support

  15. Seems like my reply is lost..

Thanks for your love and support as always.. Its great to be covered in Newsletter! Lets do something for the next open house for sure 🙂

  16. Haven’t pitched to the wedding planner till now, Still working on making the printing on the paper better in terms of quality. Last Diwali, we were not able to sell anything else but Seed Paper Greeting Cards 🙂

  17. Haha! Thank you 🙂

Wanted to check and see if Sachin Bansal will reply to it or not. Still waiting 🙂

  18. Its a handmade paper so definitely it cost more than the normal paper. The costing completely depends on the quantity as we manufacture as per requirement and currently the process is not as streamlines.

Drop a mail on d@21fools.com for better idea!

  19. Will wait for 2-3 days to see if they get in touch with me via twitter. Otherwise will send the samples to them and also mail the ppt 🙂

  20. Thanks Anirudh 🙂

  21. Hi Rtvik, Very interesting indeed!

You know the seed which we mostly use for our Plantable Paper Product is ‘Basil’ and till now we have almost helped 60,000 people plant a basil plant at their home.

Would be happy to take it forward 🙂 I read in your profile that you are from Bikaner which is coincidentally my birth place. Wrote an article long time back which is little related to Bikaner in some way. Hope you will like it

Check the basil plant we grew from the plantable paper 🙂

  22. Hi Anurag,

Glad to connect with you here and via twitter too. Please share your contact details on my mail – d@21fools.com and I will drop by at your office next to next week for sure. I love tea! 🙂

  23. This is a great idea, and the same product can be promoted in many other organisations. There are some NGOs working for environment awareness, and still use a lot of paper for their brochures/pamphlets etc. Hope to see this product doing great. Best luck!

  24. Love this product divyanshu! Do keep us posted on the developments.

Also, can other seeds apart from basil be included?

  25. divyanshu,

i will be back in goa by june 1. i have quite a decent green patch below my apts that i nurture. i’m more than happy to experiment with all kinds of paper seeds. and document them for you (i appreciate folks in mumbai don’t have the luxury of kitchen gardens 🙂

let me know if i can help make your paper more popular in any way.

  26. I just sent this across to a bunch of folks at FK. Lets see how they react!

  27. The article on Bikaner makes for an interesting read, Divyanshu ; it seems you have inherited your grandfather’s genes in contributing to the society. Stay this way!

Incidentally, our production facilities are located at Gadhwala, en-route your parental village, Napasar. This time around you come to Bikaner, remember to get in touch.

Holy Basil(Tulsi) is a great choice, and although not strictly a tree, it has a uniquely Indian feel to it. We might be interested to have greeting cards embedded with various herb seeds this Diwali. Let’s work on it.

    Cheers!

    RS

  28. hey divyanshu – you must add the image of nidhi bhasin’s (flipkart) tweet on your post. did anything come out of it?? do update us!! very eager to know what’s happening…

  29. The day I saw Divyanshu’s post, I fell in love with his idea. The fact that it shared a direct correlation with our business at Botanosys Labs (Botanical/Herbal Extracts), had a lasting impression and I was convinced we wanted to so something with this product at the first available opportunity.

Come Diwali. Over 400 pharma/herbal/dietary supplement company top honchos will receive this remarkable piece of creativity. Quite simply, Season’s Green-tings!
