I saw this Ad in the Wall Street Journal (iPad App) on Saturday, and haven’t been able to get it out of my head.
For the curious, the ad is by BINGHAM – a reputed Law Firm that helps Companies Manage their affairs better.
Coming back, something in the ad just stuck on…
– At first, I was critical – I was in the mood to apply my usual ‘critical’ cap and just blow the ad and its imagery to smithereens.
But something held me back.
Yesterday, when I saw the ad again, I thought ‘hey – there is a point they are making’. But that was it.
Today, I saw the Ad again and this is what passed through my head:
– The Dalmatian is the ME – The Struggling Entrepreneur.
– Its so poetic – the spots are shedding themselves – without the Dalmatian having any control. I guess every Entrepreneur also faces that reality. Business, Trade, People and Partners (spots) – just change (shed) without notice and sometimes without a reason…
– The Dalmatian’s expression intrigues me. Is the Entrepreneur worried? Is he looking back and wondering to WAIT or MOVE on?
– The situation is also very INSPIRING. What emerges is a beautiful white dog with no spots.
So like all Entrepreneurs, does this Dalmatian accept that what happens is only for the good – for more ‘beautiful’ things to come…??
Are you ready to play Dalmatian? or have you already ‘been there, done that’

nice AD, Once you shed the spot you miss it further and realise every spot carries a meaning for a DALMATIAN
