Requirement: Senior PHP Tech Lead
Location: Mangalore
Job Purpose/Overview:
BillMail ID needs a proficient hands-on coder in PHP who can lead a team of Senior and Junior PHP developers by guiding them on low level software design as well as high level architecture principles; and performing their code reviews for adherence with design patterns and coding guidelines. We work on large scale web platforms, so we are looking for an Evangelist profile who takes lead on web strategy initiatives for building such socially aggregated, distributed, heavy-traffic platforms.
Ideal candidate will be one who is a web 2.0 enthusiast with expert knowledge of client and server side web technologies and who is in sync with latest and greatest from the world of W3C and WWW.
Academic Qualifications:
Candidate must have B.E / B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science And/or MCA
Work Experience:
•3+ yrs of experience in Hard-Core PHP programming
•Tech – Lead level candidate who can do Code reviews and Optimize PHP Code as well as write clean and optimised SQL queries.
. Must be conversant with Open source platforms and technologies

Must Have Skills:
•Proficient in core PHP programming, HTML and MySQL with HANDS-ON industry experience.
•Must know one of the following MVC based PHP frameworks – CakePHP, Zend, CodeIgnitor
•Commercial experience in large scale Web Application development and / Web 2.0 Platform development.
•Good knowledge of the Linux command line (desirable, not essential).
•Expert at Object Oriented Programming Skills ( PHP5 )
•Must write efficient code with system architecture documentation.
•Good at technical documentation – ER Diagrams, system architecture block diagrams, UML etc.
•Can read code written by others – CODE REVIEW
•Has experience debugging code.
•Proficient with frontend technologies like CSS3, HTML 5, Javascript and Ajax
•Web Site Optimizations – CSS Sprites, Running tools like YSlow, CDN, etc.
•Must be a team player, possess a good attitude and be self-discipline
•Excellent levels of communication. Both written and verbal
• Must be able to independently configure & maintain servers (Apache & nginx)
. Must be able to work with API from various third-party platforms (such as Payment Gateways / Ecommerce players etc)
. Must be able to configure SSL certificates as and when required
Desirable skills:
•Proficient in making good DB design and schema accounting for data normalization
•Has worked on caching systems (memcached), messaging systems (rabbit MQ), background processes
•Competent with RFC’s and web protocols / standards.
•Thorough knowledge of open source frameworks like Jquery
•Knowledge of browser quirks, modes – RFC’s, browser standards, API’s
•API integration ( Payment Gateway, Ecommerce Plugins etc..)
