I, may be many of you, have read a lot about learning to say “NO”.. Saying no is good, may be to some extent, while in job.
We start our journey as an entrepreneur with a gr8 idea(s) and plans about execution. The reality may be far different than the plans and expected. We came together to work on an idea, which was supposed to change the lifestyle of peoples to major extent. Till today we have started three different businesses. One doing very good, second is walking and third one is about to start this month. I co-founder of the group, was very actively involved in setting up all the three.
FMCG DISTRIBUTION: What I learnt is we wait for opportunity. We are required to say no to many clients big or small due to limitation of resources and ROI.. From day one I insisted on saying YES… If a client need goods at 10 pm, located at 6-8 kms, we delivered. This has helped us to build the trust with the clients. It was an opportunity, we didn’t knew, and we acted on it.
CAKE DELIVERIES: During my visit to Monginis to buy cake, I inquired the owner about home deliveries. I shared about our services business with him and we exchanged our cards. After around 11 days, this person called me and requested for home delivery of two cakes. Rates offered by him were not so lucrative and we have never done such job in the past. I said yes. We are working as his only home delivery partner. We got around 3-4 four other bakeries. This has given birth to www.cakehunt.com to be launched this month.
We are not a big success today, however the path selected by us keep us motivated. This is because, we never calculate ROI in monetary sense only. Being a start up, along with money, we are supposed to burn lots of calories. Every single calorie, will leave its mark and will us in growth. Saying YES has opened new avenues for us. I am sure it will help all of us. I am proud to be a YESMAN, Are You ?

Hi Uddipta,
Thanks for the feedback. You have all the rights to differ from what I think or I feel. Would like to share few things with you just to make things more clear about my post,
1. I wrote this post to share how saying YES has helped us to start a new business.
2. It has nothing to do about food industry. It is mere co-incidence that we are into food industry and got an idea to work in the same. We started with food, then services and then food. Have 3 different projects rolled.
3. It may happen that while working on your own idea you unknowingly get new avenues opened because at some time you said YES (atleast we got, we are happy)
I totally agree with you that, “People will suck your calories, money, time, effort and whatever…..”. I am loosing it (if any), i take this as an investment, I am sure i will double the returns in short time..
Thanks once again…
