What is InnerChef?
InnerChef was founded in April 2015, by serial entrepreneurs Rajesh Sawhney, Bal DiGhent (of DiGhent cafe fame in Gurgaon) and Sanjeev Singhal (our CTO). Our mission is to provide the ultimate food experience to our customers and help them #EatBetter. We are obsessed with technology and will leverage it to bring the “InnerChef experience” to every home and every office!
What are the cuisines and meal formats you can find at InnerChef?
With European, Mediterranean and modern Indian dishes on its menu, InnerChef specializes in exotic salads with low-cal dressings(must try!), wholesome Panini and Salad Combos (bestsellers!), comforting pastas, scrumptious snacks (huge selection!) and decadent desserts (our lemon cake is to die for! Just have a look at the video at the bottom of the post)
InnerChef offers meals in two formats: Ready-to-Eat and 15 minute meals. Ready-to-Eat as the name suggests is ready to be eaten up! The 15 minute meals are more suited for home-cooking where InnerChef does all the legwork right from washing, chopping and prepping all the ingredients, salad dressings, spreads, sauces etc. and all you have to do is – simply follow the recipe!
How is InnerChef different from existing food tech players?
InnerChef has an interesting and unique hybrid business model. While most of the other players are just aggregators or deliver “morning cooked” chef meals throughout the day, InnerChef prepares your food fresh, in its own kitchens, after receiving your order online.
But that’s not all!
We also operate a first-of-its-kind hyperlocal desserts marketplace – Indulge by InnerChef – where talented home bakers and neighborhood bakeries can offer their products to millions of customers across the country. Our vision is to take the Indulge platform to 100 cities within a year with 100,000 home bakers on the platform. So, sit back, relax and let the dessert come to you – Indulge with us!
Where is InnerChef operational?
Right now we are operational in Gurgaon, South Delhi, Noida, Bangalore (Marathahalli area) and Chennai. Some cities only have the Indulge marketplace, but will get the full menu very soon. Lot more cities coming up this year so stay tuned.
How have we performed so far?
We have over 95% Customer Satisfaction, and receive lots of love from our Customers, whom we love as well (see below!). Our apps and website (www.innerchef.com) are widely praised and so is our photography style. Unrelenting obsession with quality and customer delight is a way of life at InnerChef and nothing short of it is worth it!

The onboarding process is pretty simple. It usually involves the bakers reaching out to us on indulge@innerchef.com
We then meet them and do some product trials, and if we like some particular product(s) which we feel would add value to our portfolio and our customers, we on-board them.

Explain to me how the economics work?
What volume (billing) would you need to become profitable? This means paying your own market salaries to yourself included
How would that billing translate? Meals served * Billing per meal?
