With the advent of mankind on earth there arose a need to establish smooth social order for humans to find out their purpose in life and their need for existence. This ultimately led to the emergence of religion and culture. According to archaeological sources, the first civilization dates back to 2500 BC with its root in the Sindhu Valley. Since then, we not only have a very rich heritage but are also at the top of the pack when it comes to Vedic and religious rituals.
The Pooja Shop is one giant step in the preservation and widespread availability of this unmatched heritage. We strive to uphold our legacy.
Enough of the boring corporate intro!
Let me start with a very short introduction about myself! I am a final year CS undergrad, bitten by the entrepreneurial bug a couple of years ago. It all started one fine day when while travelling I was engaged in a conversation with my family about their obsession with religion and culture. My father himself spends loads on Poojas and Pandits and most people in India do too.
That’s when I thought, why not establish a platform for it? Why not make it a money making process?
And here I am, months later with this intuitive little platform, inconspicuously named, The Pooja Shop.
The Pooja Shop provides niche services like Online Pandit Booking, ePooja, handpicked samagri delivery and various metallic handicrafts (both religious and decorative). We have over 2000 pandits in our database and manufacture over 9000 handicrafts ranging from 20g to 250kg.
Online Pandit Booking
After rigorous interviews and rejections, we now have a network of over a thousand well versed pandits who can perform all sorts of Pooja for you.
For those who are too religious or choosy and need a specialist, we provide special one on one interaction with the pandit before confirming the deal. What’s more! We do not charge anything for this special service!
ePooja
Given the fact that Indians are now wide spread across the globe and even when in the country are hard pressed for time, knowledge and resources to complete their religious aspirations. They are restricted by lack of information or options in terms of an easy solution when required the most. As a result, many of us have lost touch with the divine and are increasingly moving away from our roots of spiritual absolutions so essential to our identity.
This is where The Pooja Shop’s unique ePooja service steps in. Whether you want to leave everything on us or fancy getting your hands dirty, our experts will guide you throughout the way.
Special Handicrafts
Our exclusive handicrafts will enchance the beauty of your home. Our signature Gold Plated items have a huge customer base via our offline store.
Finally!
Though our website is still a bit half baked, you can check out our entire product range, here. Do let us know in case of bulk/corporate orders and I’ll offer special discounts for the same.
For all the Rodinhooders, we have a special 20% sitewide coupon (TRHS20) or if you choose something from our catalog, give us a call and mention this post!

hi ritvik,
clearly you’ve identified a need and solved it! so kudos for your entrepreneurial spirit!
i haven’t been to the site, but i have a few quick suggestions about your communication.
your corporate intro doesn’t work for me at all 🙁 it sounds made up!! i think you should just state some facts about india, that there is a need to solve people’s pooja needs and you’re solving it!
copy cat pooja – copycat has a negative connotation – you might want to use a better word. at the end of the day, pooja is a sensitive topic so when you’re making a business around it, your tone, communication needs to be in sync with what the business is all about 🙂
ps: in my experience having an active twitter handle for the pooja store will help you enormously 🙂
all the best!!

Hi Asha,
Constructive Criticism is always welcome. I will definitely try to improve the intro part.. as for a twitter handle, we’ll get to that once we are up and running properly. Its still a beta product so there will be many changes.
Do let me know once you check out the website 🙂
