Hi Rodinhooders,
This post might look a bit odd but I am asking this as I am new and curious to know about it.
I would like to know if its possible to invest small amounts say (Rs.5000 or Rs.10000) in Indian startups. Are there any crowd-funding sites in India that allow investors to invest small amounts in startups?
Do startups take such less funding? If yes what is the ROI you can expect.
If its possible, please give me the procedure about how to find startups and invest small amounts in them.

Hi Shravan,
First of all, there is no such thing as an odd question. Coming to your question on investing small amounts in Startups, the answer is – Yes, it’s possible and it is better know as “Crowdfunding”
Just google Indian Crowdfunding Platforms and you get quite a few results. The amounts that you can invest varies from company to company & needless to say, so is the stake offered. One thing that you need to be aware of is that the question is not if the startups accept such small funding or not because for them there will be many like you who would be investing small amounts which in turn will multiply and result in a bigger funding. So, yes, they will accept whatever small contribution you have to offer. Globally many innovative product & services ideas have received humongous funding through platforms like Kickstarter.
You mentioned ROI? Well, IMHO, there is no certainty on returns. You might loose all your money or you may even end up 100 times higher.

etiquette demands that the least you could do is acknowledge the fact that members have taken out time to read & respond your post.
