Do Entrepreneur’s have a sell by date???
Do Entrepreneurs have to be between a certain age….Does one person become an entrepreneur if he is of a certain age ie a Young Person (between the age of 20-30 yrs).
Don’t these questions just haunt you at times, well I could have done a lot for my community if only I was young?
Well, who says you have to be young and fit to do something for the community of job seekers around you. You could be retired or still at school or a young person, maybe you’re one spare hour could do wonders to the community of job seekers.
Next you will ask how and why should I do that, well that brings me to the next part of this little ranting of mine. Watch this video and decide how you can do it.
My Experience of TEDx
I think the best thing I have ever done is stand up on 16th March 2013 and speak at the TEDx conference. I am still a newbie in this world of entrepreneurs and public speakers but if you ask me one thing or one word to describe my experience at the event then it is simply “fantastic”. Please do it once, try and send your story to organisers of any TEDx event, or just take the plunge and organise one and see the magic, see the energy and experience the magic of “Ideas” which are shared on such a platform and you will realise what we could truly do in this world.
The biggest question in front of me was: “Why TEDx”???
This question did grey a few of my brain cells, gave me a few sleepless night. Was the story of this girl so important that it needed to be shared, or were these 100 people worth my time and effort that I should stand up and talk about their “incredibly small effort”.
I did think a lot and came to this conclusion that, YES it was very important to me as a person, that this young girl’s story reach a lot of other people. The story made me realise that If I am able to inspire just one person to go and spend one hour of there free with in one such institute then YES we have taken a baby step towards creating the community of entrepreneurs – who really don’t have a sell by date or age 🙂
What is TEDx:
Ideas that change our future, now presented live in your city.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUnionTerrace, where x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxUnionTerrace event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in asmall group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED.
About TED
TED is an annual event where some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about. “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future. And in fact, the event is broader still, showcasing ideas that matter in any discipline. Attendees have called it “the ultimate brain spa” and “a four-day journey into the future.” The diverse audience — CEOs, scientists, creatives, philanthropists — is almost as extraordinary as the speakers, who have included Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Paul Simon, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck and Bono.
TED was first held in Monterey, California, in 1984. In 2001, Chris Anderson’s Sapling Foundation acquired TED from its founder, Richard Saul Wurman. In recent years, TED has expanded to include an international conference, TEDGlobal; media initiatives, including TED Talks and TED.com; and the TED Prize. TED2010, “What the world Needs Now,” will be held Feb 9-13, 2010, in Long Beach, California, with a simulcast event in Palm Springs, California. TEDGlobal 2009, “The Substance of Things Not Seen,” will be held July 21-24, 2009, in Oxford, UK and TEDIndia will be held in November 2009.
