Looking for feedback on Android Cricket App from the Cricket loving Rodinhooders !!

Hello Rodinhooders !!

We have recently launched a Live Cricket Score app on Android play store

Link to Download the app

Now, if you are Cricket fan like me and having smart phone, you might be using some cricket app like Cric Buzz or Yahoo Cricket  or Cricinfo or any other apps.

We have analysed all those apps and included most of the features which we found to be valuable – but we never know what end users are looking for until n unless we get some feedback.

You can see the features of our app from app description on the play store, or you can simply download our app app and check it.

We are planning to add a score sharing feature through FB / Twitter.

The exact thing I am looking for over here is – what extra features user might want – or as an end user what are you expectations from the app !!

Looking forward to feedback.

Thank you.

Tejas

  1. Hi Tejas,

As we all know Indians are obsessed with Cricket & Bollywood,so you have huge potential but also remember you are competing with biggie like Cricinfo. I use Cricinfo App, its good but there’s a lot of features missing which you could trap. Best thing about cricinfo app is the timely notification which I get, specially when I am not watching a match. But then, I don’t want to get notification of all the matches which are live on a particular day. If you can work on customized notifications, you can hit the right note. Eg. I want all notifications of India’s match (every wicket,Score after few overs etc). I am interested in Ashes or other match too,but I don’t want notifications of every wicket etc since its not my top priority game for that articular day. Most notifications are automated (like every wicket, every few overs) but sometimes I would like to get notifications about big turning point in the match. Eg. I get notification every 5 overs, but in last 5 overs Dhoni has changed the game, then I would like to get notification of score for every big over since they are crucial overs in the match. I hope you got my point. I would love to see an app which I can control as per my interest on that particular game.

I haven’t used your app yet. I can only give you proper feedback when I am following a match (may be the 1st ODI between Ind & SA on 5th Dec).

    Good Luck :).

    Jeet,

  2. Hi Jeet,

First of all thanks for the reply 🙂

I do agree with the point that there are big names in this space, one of them is specially cricinfo as you mentioned.

We have wicket fall notification in our app (you might like to download the app and check). Idea of customised notification is great – but could you please tell me as an end user how would you like it ? We can do something like get notifications from particular teams only – thats easy to do, and we can also do every wicket,Score after few overs etc.

Now, the notification about turning point of the match – thats tricky – since notifications are generally automated i.e. notifications are sent when particular event happens – in our case when the wicket falls. So, as such there is no Artificial Intelligence which says this is turning point of the match.

But for sure – I do understand your point of view, as an end user – you are interested in following the match when its getting interesting and that makes lot of sense. As of now, I can’t think of any possible solution about how to tackle this, but I’ll definitely let you know if I come across something where we can make the app intelligent. If you have any ideas regarding this, please do share.

Once again thanks for the insights.

    Regards,

    Tejas
