I am Akshay, I am a student and a hustler, and I aspire to be an Entrepreneur. These days I am working with Preseed. At Preseed we have a mission to educate and inspire people about entrepreneurship, and we also help them co-build startups.
This was all about me. I have a story which inspires me a lot, I would love to share it with you.
There was a guy whose mother had to close two of her restaurants due to some unexpected reasons. After the shutdown, this woman was a little shattered but was inspired enough to start up another business which enabled her to take a sub-franchisee of Western Union Money Transfer. An amazing fact about this woman is that she did her schooling to 10th grade and has a condition in her eyes which prevents her to read tiny letters, hence most of the documents, and this problem cannot be corrected with spectacles. This new business ran into losses initially, and to add to that she was being taunted by her family to shut it down. Meanwhile her son was in class 9th and wanted to join his father’s business and avoid academic life. Seeing his mother struggle with her new business, he took this as an opportunity, and this kid found out everything about why his mother was suffering losses, and what she could do to start making profits.
In his research on how other people in similar businesses were making money, he found that they were also running Foreign Exchange business. He discussed this with his mother and convinced her to let him work in a small Foreign Exchange company to learn the basics of the business.
He shared everything that he learnt at the workplace with his mother, and they planned to start up the Foreign Exchange business, by taking a Partial License, an R.M.C.A. Now, they were running a business which was making good profits and were planning to expand.
This kid is me. Today I am in my final year in University Of Delhi and I have started exploring more opportunities. I now as a part of Preseed, head its workshop called Startup Essentials, which is my new venture, and with which I’m aiming to succeed.
At this workshop, we attempt to fulfill our mission of educating and inspiring, aspiring Entrepreneurs.
