Meet Yourselves!

How much time do you give to yourselves?

Try answering the above question and you will realize, its long time since you devoted yourselves a minute. Often when you see your old photo albums, you feel that you are not the same person in the photograph. We say people change. What about us? Don’t we change too? But we neglect the change in ourselves. We are first to spot the change in others but last to spot change in ourselves and it is because we don’t meet ourselves. You go through success, failures, ups and downs, but did you console or congratulate yourself?

We spend our life learning about others but remain illiterate about our own self. Most of your problems will be solved if you know yourself. Most of your questions will be answered if you talk to yourself. Ever wondered, when you study for years and get a degree and go for a job interview, why the interviewer ask you ‘Tell me something about yourself’ instead of ‘Tell me something about others that you learned in college’? Because if you don’t know yourself, you will never know your customer. If you can’t sell yourself to you, you will never be able sell yourself to anybody in this world.

Do you talk to mirror? If you don’t, soon you will start finding strangers in your mirror. People endlessly keep running after accumulating wealth to a extent that they won’t be able to spend even half of it. People keep working all their life without creating anything worth mentioning, and all because they don’t know what exactly they want, and they don’t know because they never sat with themselves and ask what they want?

You feel lonely after a failure not because people abandon you but because you abandon yourself. Stand by yourselves during hard times and you will never find hard times standing against you. Talk to yourself, impress yourself, if you can’t impress yourself, don’t expect others to be impressed by you. People who meditate can connect with this. This is why meditation is recommended for managers. Meditation is not just about sitting calmly, it is about meeting yourselves, talking to yourself, impressing yourselves, knowing yourselves, motivating yourselves, congratulating yourselves, etc.

Follow this and see the change in you.

1. Take out 15 mins everyday for yourself.

2. Don’t allow any person or thought to intrude or disrupt ur meeting with yourself during this 15 mins.

3. Make sure you are only with your own self and talk to your self.

4. Laugh if you hv not laughed since long, cry if you couldn’t cry last time due to ego

5. Stand in front of mirror, notice the changes, talk to your self, ask about your own well being

6. Befriend and impress the person in the mirror.

7. Find out what you want exactly and keep evaluating.

‘Log wahi hain, jagah wahi hai, samah wahi hai,

fir b kuch badla badla sa lagta hai,

Aaina dekha toh jana ki,

Aaine me jo shaqs hai badla badla sa lagta hai’

  2. Great article nicely written :).

One point i thought would add value to this post is gratitude. A lot of us when we look at ourselves we look our vices, rarely do we thank for the virtues and the kinda life we have. Like having food to eat or money to buy the next meal. etc.

  3. Great and very inspiring.

  4. Thanks for your inputs…

    Regards

  5. Mirror is just one technique…

    You don’t really need mirror…

I can teach u few methods if you are really interested…
