Hi all, my name is Advait Deodhar and im a racing driver from Mumbai , India. I am currently sponsored by FEI Cargo , SMAAASH , Big Thrill RTL & SEACRET and am racing for the team Brand Connect Racing .This is my story & an opportunity for you to join me on my journey to the top.
How It all began.
I was born in Mumbai on February 27th, 1990. I discovered his need for speed at a formative age. I attended Campion school until the 10th grade and Jai Hind College in the 11th and 12th in Mumbai. I was involved in various sports throughout my teens. I started sailing at the age of 9 and competed in multiple national championships over the years.I was crowned youth national champion at the age of 17 in the Laser class of boat, which is an Olympic level category. Though I had sailed for most of my life, I found my true calling behind the wheel of a car.
As a child, I collected car models and avidly followed motorsport from a very young age.
From the first instant I got into the driver’s seat, I knew I wanted to do nothing else in life: no other experience would ever provide the same adrenaline rush or sense of total belonging.
So much downforce and grip generated from the wings and slick tyres , makes cornering speeds so high that it feels like the opposing G-Forces could take your head off !
Racing against some of the most experienced and best racing drivers in the country in two championships, I have already racked up 2 podiums and am all geared up for the final race of the FF 1600 championship at the mighty Buddh International Cicuit on the 13th – 15th September , followed by Round 3 of the Formula LGB4 Championship on the 27th-29th September at the Buddh.
I participated in autocross rallies and go-karting races, between 2006- 2008. After finishing my 12th grade, I moved to Italy (Turin) to pursue a degree in automobile design. Though I loved being in the country that made some of the world’s greatest supercars, I realized that I would never be satisfied sitting behind a desk sketching cars. After completing my degree in July,2012, I decided to turn down various promising job offers in Europe and took the challenge of returning to India to embark on a racing career.
The start of life behind the wheel : 2012
I competed in the Formula LGB4 Indian National Championship in 2012 .
With a few ups and downs through the year, I ended up finishing 1st in the Rookie classification in the Championship; grabbing the attention of many in the motorsport fraternity.
In 2013, the next big step for me was to compete in the MRF Formula Ford 1600 National Championship and a second year in the Formula LGB4 National Championship.
In April ,during a competition held by Volkswagen motorsport India, I got selected by Volkswagen India to be part of the factory Volkswagen Stunt driving team. After an absolutely crazy day of drifting , sliding, parallel parking, nearly flipping the car etc. I was one of 3 drivers chosen out of the 42 entrants.
The MRF FF 1600 is regarded as the highest and most advanced level of Indian Motorsport. It is an international level ‘slicks & wings’ race car.
After this, the next step in my career is the MRF International Challenge 2013, which I have been invited to compete in.
This series is considered as one of the highest levels of Formula Racing in Asia , with drivers competing from across the globe.
Last year, the series had two entrants, Josh Hill and Conor Daly, who are both sons of ex-F1 drivers.
The series starts in October as the official F1 support race and sets up big marketing opportunities for companies to sponsor me and promote their brand. A partnership between us in this series can be used as a platform for various innovative marketing schemes and for corporate entertainment.
Please do contact me on advait@brandconnect.co.in for us to discuss a partnership for the upcoming series.
Also, please find attached the sponsorship brochure for a partnership with me in the MRF International Challenge 2013.
Lets take this to the next level and get another Indian on the top spot in International Motorsport!

hey advait,
pardon my ignorance, but how long did you train to become a professional racer?? you’ve mentioned you’ve studied automobile design – but that’s not a requisite, right?
Advait Deodhar
Hey asha,
I did study automobile design and that had nothing to do with this. I took a big risk and paused my career in automobile design to follow the dream in motosport.
Its my second year as a professional racing driver now.
