Fun

One straw revolution

One sure way of spicing up any get together is to casually mention something about agriculture. Every time i have a drink with a bunch of friends and talk about agriculture the standard dialog is that ” If you do something count me in”. No one wants to ‘do’ agriculture but everyone wants to be part of something that is growing other things. Must be some cultural connect to Land that all Indians have. Even those who have been urban for generations (like me).

In light of this i have been researching Agriculture for almost a decade now. Frankly the green revolution chemical farming hybrid seed model is only a race to the bottom. Organic is not a complete system. The only worthwhile practice seems to be natural farming as defined by Sensei Fokuoka. Strongly recommend his book ‘One straw revolution’ to anyone interested in this space.

  1. Jyoti,
You can write books on farming (like the good sensei) when you are old 🙂

  2. This is quite common. not just with ecommerce companies. even with government enterprise.

I booked a ticket in IRCTC in march 2012 for journey after april 2012 in Rajadhani express. The ticket costs around X amount. since it was applied in budget, every one was forced to pay extra Y amount.

This is not wrong. what is wrong is, if you are not informing the customer about the change in price.
