Online Book stores-What’s missing

Amazon started with books,Flipkart started with books…….rest is history.Books are easiest commodity for e-commerce stores.There are dozens of online book store- flipkart,weread,infibeam and many others.The pricing in books is cut throat,they all are burning money but still books are best bet to start an online store,low entry barrier and lot of customers.

But do you really think online book stores are helpful to avid book lovers?I don’t think so.All the existing online book stores are trying to sell books,not market them or engage book lovers.Believe me,an odd event in book fair is not what I am talking about.

There is some thing missing in these book stores.Online book stores in india are merchants,not book lovers and that is no why most of them are not able to connect to book lovers.Great service is not the only thing which we need,along with that excellent content would not be bad.Most of them book stores doesn’t even have a good enough description of a book.

Normally book readers are the one who like to share their thoughts and knowledge.For most of us who are book lovers reading books is an experience where we like to share what we are reading,we discuss about their characters and plots and laugh and cry with them.We want to scream to the world,look at this character isn’t he or she lovely  .On-line book stores does not cash on this aspect of book reading and try to engage customer on a level which is beyond making simple sales.
