Hi Rodinhoods , I am working on a online bookstore website and planning to launch it soon . But One thing i want to ask is what are the most effective or out of the box ideas that can help me to made my website popular with less investment . I just completed my graduation so i dont have enough money to manage huge advertisements and all .
If I will get any ideas from You guys , I will be really thankful to all of you.

hi ashish,
‘SOCIAL MEDIA’ & BLOGGING are the magical words 🙂
BOOK REVIEWS, AUTHOR INTERVIEWS & LIVE CHATS (tweet chats are awesome), BOOK CLUBS, REVIEW CLUBS, CONTESTS – i could go on forever!!
pls go through this magnum opus by internet god abey john – https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/internet-marketing-traffic-ge…
and check what aneja raj has written in digital media as well.
https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/email-marketing-how-to-make-100-000
we have lots of rodinhooders who have books/authors-related ventures – use the search engine.
check out litizen, half baked beans etc
when you’ve launched it – do feature it on showcase! here – you’ll get some great feedback.
also i’m presuming you’ve tackled facts like:
– you’re not just another online bookstore?
– you have a niche – a USP?
– something that ensures you can survive amongst the zillions of other online bookstores? (you can’t beat flipkart in cost and service when it comes to books! they’ve got it RIGHT!!)
all the best!

also, check how perzen started a biz from her blog – read each comment and the insights provided by rodinhooders – https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/can-your-blog-become-a-business

Email marketing is also great option for branding or sales.
Social Media such as facebook, twitter, pinterest, youtube, linkedin, Google + etc.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – Slow and steady traffic for website hence it takes time to generate traffic that convert into sales.
Google Adwords (PPC) – Its paid source but worth to do if you want to get instant traffic and sales of books.

dear ashish – i’m SHOCKED at your question!!!
have you any direct contact of raddiwala biz???!!! have you bothered to look at karan’s page and see what kind of a business he runs???
your question sounds really lazy, if you ask me 🙁
i also don’t understand how you’ve “planned” an online book store business without knowing HOW TO CONTACT PUBLISHERS AND AUTHORS???!!!
dude – fellow rodinhooders take time out to help. the least you can do is have YOUR BASICS in place!!
sorry – i’m a little disappointed here…

Are you on Goodreads.com? They have a great community of people who read and love books. You could probably do some networking there.
ashish dwivedi
Sorry Karan , I just misunderstood that word raddhi wala … 🙂 🙂
Now I understood . I will get in touch with u soon with my website.
Thanks
ashish dwivedi
Sorry Asha
Actually I just misunderstood that word raddi wala businesses thats why i asked this stupid quesstion. Now i get the point.
Why i asked that how to contact publishers and authors because i am doing a job for my monthly expanses , So i have very little time for those works.
Any ways I will start work on those marketing things also .
thanks for support
ashish dwivedi
Hi Niharika ,
I am on Goodreads.com . This is a great thing you told me . I will definetly do this.
Thanks
Abey John
Ashish, man, you have too many balls juggling in the air!
I would suggest:
a) Focus on your job
b) Volunteer at an existing NGO to understand the harsh ground realities of running a charity. Funding, operations, et al.
c) Work on your writing skills as explained in the other thread. Along with grammar and punctuation, your spellings are also deep six worthy. Since you call yourself a writer (be it even an aspiring one) I don’t mind giving you an ass kicking if you churn out crap.
d) Kill the online store. An online store is tough enough. An online bookstore is a suicide mission unless you really have a proper game plan and deep pockets.
It doesn’t look like you have enough headspace to manage all this.
BUT kudos for the ambition. Don’t let go of that. It takes a special kind of madness to want to do so many things at once. You’ll eventually get there but from what I’ve seen of your posts so far it looks like you still have some shit that needs to get kicked. Allow Life to do its work.
