Found an worn out book lying in the backyard of the house today morning. The first page that i turned was about positivity and negativity towards life. Read it, and LOVED it.
Go through the points below, create two columns on a plain paper. Read each point, and mark yourself honestly on that point. At the end, count the marks for both sides. Voila! you’d know if you’re keeping a positive frame of mind at the moment.
The learning:
- Optimists expect positive outcomes, Pessimists do the opposite – expect negative outcomes.
- Optimists take responsibility for life while Pessimists stay away from it and seeks blame instead.
- Optimists believe things in life can be achieved through personal strength; Optimists believe in fate / destiny.
- Optimists look for SOLUTIONS when problems come their way; Pessimists whimpers
- Optimists look forward to the FUTURE; Pessimists live in the PAST
- Optimists work hard to develop ABILITIES while Pessimists rue about the lack of it
- Optimists pursue specific GOALS and DREAMS; Pessimists just drift aimlessly
- Optimists look for OPPORTUNITIES in the problems they face; Pessimists see only difficulties in them
- Optimists nurture strong social network while Pessimists are lonely and surrounded by negative minded people
- Optimists persist after failure(s) but the Pessimists quit pretty quickly
Confession: And going by the checklist above, it seems that i am bordering on the negative side at the moment 🙁 Yeah, the journey of an entrepreneur taking a toll on the mind too!
