Phillips ohhhh Phillips….when will you learn….??!

So, I bought myself a set of Phillips Sports Earphones for my iPod to be used while running.

 

Why Philips?

 

Well, because they are  were good.

 

For one year I used a Sennheiser and was very happy with that brand, till the right ear phone conked out. I’m guessing due to the rain.

 

I cermemoniuously destroy one set of headphones each year – around the monsoon, so this was the year of the Sennheiser.

 

Now, the Phillips.

 

I’ve used them in the past and hence bought them again, BUT……

What the HELL was the yellow adhesive tape all about?????

 

The earphones are an elegant Grey/Yellow, but what the HELL was the reason to make the Adhesive yellow???

 

Just a month back I had posted this photograph in poetic praise about Apple’s eye for detail:

 

I mean I was so repulsed by this yellow tape that I just switched off for a long time.

 

Anyway, I used the Phillips headset today while running:

 

– It worked well. The earphones had a nice ‘bass’ boost to the music.

 

– The control knobs were clumsily placed – the bloody thing kept dangling near by neck area rather than deep inside my T.

 

– The extra cord was good and useful.

 

Question – Why is Philips so screwed up? AND EVEN NOW AFTER THE WORLD OF APPLE DOMINATION AND DESIGN INFLUENCE????

 

– Don’t their designers VISIT the iStores and BUY OTHER HEADPHONES and compare them?

 

– Have they given up designing things and rather just like to discover new products and be happy?

 

– Is consumer electronics not their interest anymore? Are they are more interested in making Kidney Stone detection machines?

 

– WHO IN THE COMPANY HAS THIS IDEA TO MAKE ADHESIVE a Colored one?? I mean it must mean ORDERING IT RIGHT??

 

– Does the guy who does this – peel the tape off and see how ugly it looks???

 

Man, I feel so so disappointed with Philips. They make such good stuff. They LIVE AND WORK IN EUROPE. Then why do their designers and aesthetic engineers come from NORTH KOREA????

 

What do you think makes Philips so STUPID??
