PNRSeva – Tracking PNR Made Easy

Hello Friends,

Last time when I posted at Rodinhood, it was about my startup Xtendify (Plugin and Themes marketplace). Its now managed by my brother and running smoothly.

For quite some time, I was thinking to write an app which can be used by masses and this came to my mind.

PNRSeva is yet-another PNR app but it’s simple interface, tracking features and offline-first approach makes it stand out.

PNRSeva is the fastest way to get train PNR status and route details on your desktop and mobile. It uses your PNR to get latest status and train details. If the train is running, it fetches live running status otherwise simply shows the train schedule.

The best part – You can set alerts for PNR changes and upcoming stations. The app will notify you if there is a change in PNR status or if the train is approaching a station. Like this –

Last but not the least – cancellation calculation. We provide automatic cancellation calculations based on your fare and train timings.

Technical Details

The website is designed with offline-first approach. Its a progressive web app which downloads all the files when you first open it using service workers. Service worker allows this website to run in background to check for PNR and running status updates.

I developed the website and then used Cordova to wrap it as an Android app. Lastly, this app is also wrapped in a Chrome Packaged App. So basically except iOS (coming soon..) it runs on every platform.

Upcoming Features

  • iOS App
  • Translation in all major Regional Languages
  • Read PNR from IRCTC SMS
  • Integrate other features like PNR Prediction
  • Social Features – Chat with people travelling on same train

  1. hi vikas,

good to see you building new stuff – interesting name – it’s very sticky!!

one question – how is pnrseva really different from all the other pnr apps? do you have an additional feature that stands out as a differentiator?

  2. Thanks Asha. The features which really makes it stand out are – it’s simple interface, tracking features and offline-first approach. You will get station alerts before 15 mins of arrival. It really helps in getting to know where you are currently.

  3. Good one.

Vikas, you can use our prediction feature. Integrate it similar to ITS app.

    It is free to use.

    Thanks
