When was the last time that you read a book in your mother tongue? Probably years ago, right!

Now, think of over 600 million Indians who are literate but not English literate. The only way they can read is, if they have access to content in their own native language and yet apart from News, vernacular content isn’t really accessible. 

At Pratilipi, we are trying to change that. We are building a platform that connects Indian language writers with readers who can then read in their own native language.

We got together as a team on 6’th of August 2014, launched our public beta on 14’th September and in 5 short months we have reached 390+ writers who reside in 8 countries and have together published more than 2,800 content pieces on Pratilipi. In January alone we had over a 100,000 user sessions on our platform. 

But all good things need good people, and we believe our dream of making India a well read country again is one of the best things and so we need the best of people with us to bring it to reality.

We are looking to hire people who are smarter than us; who have a history of building things (preferably software / web / mobile products), an ambition to build awesome products that hundreds of millions of people will use and most importantly have a habit of getting things done.

Currently we are looking for people who can work with us in one (or more) of these roles. Graphic Designer, Android Developer, Full Stack Engineer, Front end developer and Experiment Engineer. 

For the right people, compensation would not be an issue, we are ready to give above market salaries and way above market ESOPs.

And yet, I would say do not join us for the salary or the ESOPs. Join us to work with some of the smartest people you would ever work with, and to build something that will -hopefully- live longer than all of us, something that will impact more people than almost anything that has been build in past 20 years.
