Promotional mailers – Is there no copy editing at all?

Received a mailer from one of the ecommerce websites this morning… offering sale on various items…

Some of the products indeed caught my fancy…(not because I need those products, but because their price increased after the sale.)

Take a look:

Nopes…. I havent seen ebay making such mistakes… its one of the relatively newer ones…

The point, is, this mailer must have gone to a large audience. Looking at the mistake, I’m sure the company would have lost most of the potential customers.

Shows the importance of a copy editor in a growing organisation.

This is quite common with mushrooming e-com players in India. For example Husbabies sent newsletter to registered user to avail an offer meant only for new registrations.
