This conversation transpired between Inquisitive Monk, Truthful Monk and Honest Monk, in the Monastery’s breakfast room this morning.
Inquisitive Monk said, “There is an amazing exhibition of a four hundred year old vase being displayed later in the day today.”
Truthful Monk almost immediately said, “There is an amazing display of a four billion year old rock being displayed later in the evening today.”
Honest Monk excitedly said, “I want to see both! Inquisitive Monk, where is the vase being displayed?”
Inquisitive Monk said, “In the town museum.”
Truthful Monk chuckled and said, “Museums are nothing but modern day cemeteries – of the ancient past. I don’t like cemeteries. I will probably visit one when I am dead.”
Honest Monk did not like Truthful Monk’s condescending attitude and said, “But this is an ancient vase! I am sure it has more value than a rock?”
Truthful Monk said, “It all depends.”
Inquisitive Monk said, “Truthful Monk, where will the four billion year old rock be displayed later this evening?”
Truthful Monk said, “In the sky.”
Honest Monk was perplexed and said, “Truthful Monk, don’t mislead us. Speak in plain words.”
Truthful Monk said, “I speak about the moon. It is four billion years old. It’s in the sky. Whenever someone asks me to go to a Museum, I just look up, into the sky.”
