In 2011 we initiated SchoolsNOW a conference for School principals which was held at MCARC, BKC in Mumbai. We had 47 schools principals attend from different kind of schools having ICSE, SSC, CBSE, IB and IGCSE curriculum.
It was a start-up and my wife, Saloni and myself were hands on right from the ideation to the implementation stage. No agency, No help…just us running the show.
Alok (who ive known for a number of years) kindly agreed to be one of the speakers, addressing the audience on ‘Gaming in Education’. Alok patiently waited his presentation, whilst the other speakers who took the stage, basked in the limelight and delayed the schedule. Alok, inspite of waiting endlessly and listening to the banter of unrelated topics, was very encouraging.
We learnt a lot from hitting the ground running and from advice from speakers like Alok and Indu Shahani and now we are all set for SchoolsNOW 2012.
This year in December 2012, SchoolsNOW goes to 5 cities namely Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune.
We have now hired an agency in order to have our hands free, focus on the bigger picture and professionally manage the show.
We have managed to get Taj Hotels as the Hospitality sponsor (www.tajhotels.com) and Education World (www.educationworld.in) as our Magazine partner.
We are looking for partners, sponsors and associations. Please do connect with sameermalkani@gmail.com for further details.
THANK YOU Alok for being patient and encouraging!
