Selling Organic Products Online

Dear All Rodinhooders,

This is an Idea which I would like to discuss with you. I am looking forward to start selling organic products online.

I need your advice on that, specifically:

  1. What is your idea about the market of organic products in India (and Delhi NCR)

  2. There are many categories of organic products like Fruits & vegetable, Grains, Dairy products, Oil & Ghee, Sweeteners, Tea & coffee, Spices,  Herbal products, Ayurvedic, Personal care, Apparel, etc. which one do you think is more in demand

  3. I am more keen on fruits & vegetable but not sure about the complexity of it due to its perishable nature

  4. We can draw some parallel from the existing  grocery ecommerce sector but I need to understand this more from Organic products perspective

Thanks

Rudra

  1. hi rudra,

we have quite a few rodinhooders who sell fruits & veggies online – use the search engine

go onions is there for sure.

there is tanutejas of shopkirana – a successful grocery online store in indore.

now we have a rodinhooder called amish mody who runs a store called eco-store – has eco-friendly products. dunno if any are organic though. perhaps he could give you some insights.

you could also connect with tanul – eatopia – they are into traditional food/spice boxes called eatopian delights. maybe she could guide you as well.

organic non perishables would obviously be a safer bet to start out with. once you have an enthusiastic & ensured customer base you could expand to fruits and veggies.

  2. Thanks Asha for helping me out.

I have read almost every discussion related to fruits & vegetable and online grocery from the previous archives of rodinhood, however I could not find any thing specific to organic products. Lets see if I manage to connect with any entrepreneur, who got some insight in this area.

I am also trying to connect with organic farmers near Delhi (NCR).
