Senior Marketing Manager, Amazon Appstore

We’re looking for a senior marketing manager to join the Amazon Appstore team with responsibility to drive demand and marketing strategy for the Appstore in India. You will define long-term strategy and metrics for customer and publisher/developer adoption for Appstore; you will also lead the execution of the plans and react to both customer and developer feedback on our products and services. You will coordinate with other category teams in India, the US headquarters, and other country marketing teams to ensure a unified and consistent world-class experience for Indian customers.

A successful candidate will be expected to think and act both strategically and tactically. He or she will be customer centric, resourceful, team oriented, an effective communicator, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet multiple deadlines. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the company.

Your key responsibilities will include:

    • Create a comprehensive marketing plan and associated policies for building awareness of and driving traffic to our Appstore.
    • Work cross-functionally with global Appstore marketing and India business leaders to ensure alignment with their business goals. It will require cross-functional partnership with Device, Retail, Digital, Media and Finance teams.
    • Develop accurate projects priorities, schedules and execution of the marketing plan using mobile advertising, free and paid search, email marketing, affiliate marketing, social networking, banner advertisements, site-placements on Amazon’s relevant assets.
    • Own site merchandising for Appstore and work with both internal and external design resources to ensure our on-site placements and product information meet Amazon’s high quality bar

Basic Qualifications

    • Several years of marketing management experience, preferably in digital / mobile space
    • Demonstrated track record of working successfully with and influence teams across organizations and countries
    • Must have bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Must be able to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
    • Proven ability to recruit, manage, develop, and retain a high-performing team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills are required
    • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong familiarity with the mobile and digital content domain spaces
    • Solid analytical and quantitative skills; bias towards data-based decision making, and comfort with pro-forma financial and operational analysis
    • Excellent communication and persuasion skills; demonstrated success building buy-in for an innovative and bold strategic vision
    • Tenacity and sense of urgency; the ability to make things happen quickly with less nimble partners
    • MBA
