Hi folks,
I opened my online store www.stkrz.in just about a month back.
I have a designer on board and I take care of rest of it. I am not a techie, I would like to put out a question to all of techies out there.
- Is the name SEO friendly? I have decided on the name after searching for a long time, but I would like to get the feedback from the professionals!
- I donot host my site – it redirects to www.stkrz.zepo.in Would that be bad for SEO?
- Is there any good tools online like Outlook.com (domain email id option that will help me out)?
- Your reviews and what is missing on the site etc.
- Your review of the product?
I would be glad if you can give your inputs as I am in the stage of pivoting my start up.
<Thanks folks for the help, I reached out to Zepo team and they have resolved the issue in no time :)>

Hi Aparna,
I can see that your site is getting indexed by Google. Simply, search for site:stkrz.in to see the number of pages getting indexed. As a start I’d highly recommend that you use Google webmasters tool at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools to add your website and create a sitemap to add your product links. Also, the tool would suggest any HTML changes you’ll would need to do.
Good Luck

Hi congratulations first of all for starting a new venture.
I would answer your questions in order you have asked.
1) Seo friendly name:- there are some names like buylaptopskins.com that will undoubtedly come on top of search results with minimal effort. Provided they have the right content.
But are instagram or Google Seo friendly names? They are at the top for the services they offer. Verge.com does reviews for gadgets etc. Name does not really sound like a tech or geeky website. But its one the most popular websites of tech world. All because of the quality of content and its design.
So my point is that your website name is perfect and you need the best content and Seo practices to make it popular.
2. I don’t see it it redirecting anywhere. You may consider buying a hosting space on shared server. Not much expensive. Why redirect.
3. I use gmail all the time. You could add your domain account in gmail. And send and receive emails directly in your gmail account. You may also go for gmail’s free business tools. I think they give you free 5 or 10 email account for your domain. There search tools and filters are the best.
4. Nothing seems to be missing. Saw it for 20 seconds.
5. Rs 49 and below concept is cool. Catchy. Do the stickers come off easily if I decide to get rid of them or may be try a new one?
Much luck

1. You should look at DNS and put CNAME for your domain that will point to Zepo. This will avoid http redirect.
2. open google and enter site:stkrz.in see the result
3. open google and enter site:stkrz.zepo.in check the result
4. Currently you are having index.html on stkrz.in which is having code to redirect on zepo. Better use DNS to do that stuf. Hope it helps
PS: You can ask Zepo support to help, i think they are very friendly and helpful and may give you more tips on what you can do for SEO etc.

Congratulations for your website. I love stickers 🙂
From SEO point of view I see some very major issues.
The biggest issue is that your website has only one URL effectively. http://www.stkrz.in – Zepo is mapping domain incorrectly. Ideally for each product you should have a separate URL. Plus more URLs for category listings etc.
This is a major issue.
Once you tackle that, you would need to look at Title tag optimizations, insert proper descriptions for each product. The current issue is that common text on any page >> Sticker specific text. Thus Google would see that most of the pages are all same (%age text wise) and Google doesn’t like this.
There are more issues in SEO, but unless the top two are handled you are not going anywhere.
Also look at http://www.BigCommerce.com& https://www.magentocommerce.com/

Aparna,
I will just answer your questions quickly & directly –
# Is the name SEO friendly?
= Don’t worry about the name being SEO friendly or not. One of the recent Google update (EMD) was targeted at websites having fishy domain names to get in top SERP. So – just concentrate on your website structure & online reputation in simple words.
(Though, I feel, it’s little difficult to remember so one could come back to your website typing URL in address bar)
# I do not host my site – it redirects to http://www.stkrz.zepo.in Would that be bad for SEO?
= Your site is really really bad for SEO. stkrz.in basically seem to be an empty site loading things from http://www.stkrz.zepo.in with an iFrame. SERIOUSLY BAD.
# Is there any good tools online like Outlook.com (domain email id option that will help me out)?
= Outlook.com is the perfect one & free after Google made Google Apps paid. So – just go ahead with Outlook
# Your reviews and what is missing on the site etc.
The first and foremost, your site loads in iFrame. Fix it.
Secondly, Your website doesn’t have any relevant content for search engines to determine your relevancy.
Fix these 2 issue which would cover 50% of your problems.
Your review of the product?
Your products seem unique! That’s good!!
Best luck,
Sujay

Hi Aprana,
Congratulation for a new beginning..
Your website has a good simple look.
1> The Website URL should always be something that will make people remember your brand name easily.
Feedback: Stkrz is difficult to even remember. pick up a simple domain. that people can remember and relate.
Its always good to have a keyword in your domain (not mandatory but will help), it will add value, you can try something like “50store.com” (just an example) here you are targetting your USP of below “50” price market and you are also getting a premium keyword like “store”.
2> I think you have built the ecommerce from zepo platform, you need to ask them to redirect the https://www.stkrz.zepo.in/ to https://www.stkrz..in/ this is because your are creating duplicate websites, for your business and confusing the search engines in simple terms. so do a 301 redirect (permanent)
3> Google provides its app for using email, however its a paid service now, but quite cheap and hassel free, its best for beginners. as an alternative your can also try zoho.
4>(1) The Biggest drawback in your website is that, its not made on MVC structure, in MVC structure the URL keep changing as per the page visited, if you notice when you click on any product there is no change in URL. It has to be well structured.
(2) Missing Meta Tags, This website should have metatag information well placed like Title, description etc .. these plays a major role when getting displayed on google.
There are lot of design elements that are not working, so keep looking for them .
There are over 200 parameters which decides the ranking for google. but you can start with the most important things mentioned above.
Wish you good luck ! 🙂
Aparna
Wow! Thanks for the detailed explanations :). Will definitely look in to your suggestions and see to that I address them.
Thanks for being awesome! 😀

To answer your question:
With a little bit of care, you get a clean removal :). Stripping it off like a Band-aid is a bad idea though ;).

Hi Aparna,
I write on behalf of Zepo and hope to address some of the concerns you have mentioned.
1) No doubt, that online stores with names like laptopskins, laptopstickers, etc. will rank higher in google search engine results. For the pure reason that the name is made up of keywords they are targeting. But beyond store names, what matters more is the content on your store. Be it your Meta Tags, your Product Names and Descriptions, your Image ALT Tags, etc. Google crawls the content on your store to decide keyword relevancy and further, your search engine page results.
So rest assured, after the store name, if you are hitting the right nails as far as keyword optimization for your store is concerned, you have nothing to worry about. 🙂
But being dependent on content alone on your store won’t be right too. To further ensure better page results for stkrz, you can:
A) Verify and add your site to Google Webmasters, like Ankit also mentioned.
B) Generate an XML sitemap for your store and submit the same to Zepo.
2) Sadly, the stkrz.in URL was not redirecting to stkrz.zepo.in either. Although it was opening up fine, but functionality beyond that was hampered. It was because of a minor issue of domain forwarding stkrz.in to stkrz.zepo.in, at the domain provider’s end. I believe, Sumeet from our team helped you resolve the same.
After having changed the DNS settings for stkrz.in, the redirecting issue should be sorted now. However, it will take atleast 24 hours for the changes to come into play.
Once the changes start reflecting, you have nothing to worry about as far as SEO friendliness is concerned.
3) A good alternative for Google Apps, now that Google has made the offering a paid service, is Outlook.com. Outlook offers 500 email ids for free, on the the custom domain you choose. So that should be a good alternative to have email ids like aparna@stkrz.in
You can check out how to setup Outlook for your custom domain here: https://www.labnol.org/internet/setup-outlook-on-custom-domain/24699/
Hope these answers give you some relief. You can get in touch with the team anytime, with any concern.
Cheers,
Tanya

Hey Aparna,
Congrats on starting up!!
I loved the stickers and also the pricing is something really appealing!!
I am not much into SEO so cant say much there. However, a social media presence (FB especially) will also help as that is where many of your target audience lies.
All the Best
Kunal
