Services company Launching our first Product – Training Cloud

My company – Tekno Point is  a services company since inception , started with training services  and then added web production and consulting service along the road. We got opportunity to work with several organisations both enterprise and start ups to help them with some or the other part of their product development. We helped some with wireframes , some with complete UI development , some with complete product development and some with product launch videos and some with tutorials.

I obviously had multiple ideas of building our own product  and we even attempted a few ideas but nothing really saw daylight.

Had almost given up the thought of making our own product.

However – In our effort to continuously improvise our service offerings we started investing in solutions that solved different pain areas of the business and on initiatives that would give us a long term sustainable advantage.

While Training Cloud was primarily built to meet needs of Tekno Point.  I realised its potential of being a product that can make life of a Training company easy when we deployed it for a new Training and Consulting company I am co-founder of called CloudThat.

It saved time , it saved effort , it improved our time to market, it improved customers experience with the brand.

I met another entrepreneur in personality development training and showcased him what the product is all about. He saw immense value in it however we are yet to arrive at a pricing point which will bring him on board.

While all this was going on – TiE announced a bootcamp for products which are in beta and it got me excited , usually mentoring comes with an idea that you want funding etc . But my primary objective was not to get funded but to figure out how to launch , price etc.  I applied for the bootcamp and got invited for the orientation session. My biggest take away from the session was that I dont have to wait for the product to be near perfect to take it to market.

While we did not get short listed for the bootcamp , It gave me the courage to take our belief to the world.

Long way to go for us – And ya the challenge of sailing on 2 boats product and services.

Jeff Bezos is my inspiration to make me believe that it is possible to build multiple companies with interconnected outcomes and benefits. He obviously has the money to pull it off , But I am sure its not just about money. I want to take things as good as they can get until money becomes the only show stopper.

This is the deck we prepared to showcase the product.

We are looking for early adopters of the solution in Mumbai. I think once we have a few installations and experience of supporting customers in Mumbai – we will be more prepared to take this to training companies in other cities.

Well So thats about where our story with the product is so far.  Thank you Asha for encouraging me to share it here 🙂

Please let me know your views , potential challenges I should anticipate and if you want to know more about Training Cloud from Tekno Point.
