Hello Rodinhooders!
I would like to introduce you guys to MESH, a unique product rental platform.
Need
- A lot of people are relocating to Bangalore everyday and are looking for temporary furniture for their houses.
- At the same time, there is a huge demand for renting self driven cars, bikes, bicycles but there aren’t very many sources or choices when you want to rent one out for short term usage.
- The same happens when you are looking for camping equipments or a DSLR camera for a spontaneous trek and don’t have a friend who has it.
What is MESH?
We at MESH are trying to cater to this demand by making a curated product rental platform which would serve almost all of the short term or long term rental needs in one place. Give us a go if you are planning a road trip on the coming weekend or if you are a biking enthusiast and you like to take new bicycles a spin. We have partnered with verified vendors across the city and have a strict quality check in place so that your experience is never compromised 🙂
Some unique features offered by MESH:
1.) Real time availability of hundreds of products like cars for self drive, motorcycles, bicycles.
2.) You can rent a car or bike in as quick as 2 minutes from the app, and pickup it up from the nearest pickup location
3.) Home Delivery
4.) Cash on delivery or Pay Online
5.) Lots of pickup locations everywhere in bangalore
We launched our first version on android, couple of weeks back and are seeing great initial traction from the good people of Bangalore 🙂 We have started with renting of automobiles on hourly/daily/weekly basis and plan to enter the much needed furniture and appliances category soon. Feel free to drop your feedback on marketing, product, design, engineering, user experience etc. We are a bunch of young recent engineering grads who are constantly learning while building and I am sure any feedback from this community would be of great help in this long entrepreneurial journey. I would also be happy to share our insights in this domain to all other people interested in rentals or collaborative consumption space in general. All you have to do is ask 😉

Hi Asha! I completely agree with your view that there are a lot of startups in the rental space. Renting is still evolving in India so there are a lot of niches that can evolve over time. Most of the existing apps just stop at the listing step where they show you the inventory of the vendors and you as a customer are on your own from then on. We believe that is of very little help to our end customers as they still have to go through each and every listing, call each vendor and then find out the availability which in most cases can take hours to find the right product. Our focus is to get realtime availability to the users and build a marketplace that controls the pricing and product quality through ratings and reviews. This makes it really easy to choose a product and get a confirmed booking right then.
What’s more? We also support cash on delivery, which is a huge requirement when it comes to Indian audience.
I believe having a firm grip on the end to end lifecycle of product rentals can enhance the customer experience and quality of service by multiple folds.
There are lot of other startups that operate only on specific niches like just self drive car rentals or just furniture rentals etc. but there is no aggregator that also covers all the long tail categories like home appliances, vacation rentals( cameras, hiking gear), bicycles, motorbikes. We believe people should not go to three different websites when they have to plan their vacation ( one that gives cars, one that gives cameras, etc), MESH can exist as one stop solution for catering to all the product rental needs.
