Sold more than one company?

Some time ago, one of my friend had asked me to guide and help her small service company for streamlining the business processes and make her company very less dependent on its founders. (she and her husband). I LOVE to help , especially start-ups and small companies, and I thus agreed.

This multi-crore company is in a niche domain and now is very nicely evolving into a process driven organization from people dependent organization in just few weeks. Thanks to yours truly and very co-operative founders , Future CEO & core team.

I know that the next round of funds injections can do wonders when :  most processes are in place, the in-house groomed ‘Future CEO’ and core team settle in their new respective roles.

While this is happening, I want to learn more about evolving such a company in a way that it would be piece of cake or even a no-brainer deal for the new investors to invest in or to simply buy out the company entirely. Preferably to make investors want to buy the company outright.

In my interactions with people who have sold only one company, I found lot of things to learn, but EVERY TIME I have felt that there is something missing. I have this gut feeling that it was more of pretty simple good luck than resulted in the deal. I want to find out how NOT to depend on luck & how to ensure that right conditions are created….  I want to find out what is missing!

Thus I want to talk to people who have sold two or more companies of their own.

I believe that, selling more than one company involves much more than luck.

What exactly is that ?

Can any one shed some light? 

Can some one kindly connect me with the one who has sold more than one company of their own?

PS: I know Alok is the best guy out there to talk on this subject and have met him and picked his brains little bit already.. and I want to talk to more and more people 🙂
