Hi,
I run Nirogam, a health and wellness e-store, and we have a fairly active and popular fan page on Facebook.
On an average, we get around 400 shares, 35 comments, and 1500 likes on each post that we do, with an average reach of 15000, from a total fan base of 200,000+ fans.
According to Google Analytics, it shows that we get only Rs. 2000 per month worth of direct sale conversion from Facebook which is not countworthy ! Ofcourse, our Social Media activity on FB, and other such channels would improve our organic ranking, brand visibility and social awareness.
Still, I wanted to know from my fellow Rodinhooders if somehow I can extract more juice out of our fan page by doing unconventional things.
One of the ideas that I had in mind, was to approach brands, and digital agencies and invite them to do product placements (products, which Sync with our own brand philosophy) on our page in return of some cash. This could be a good place to do product launches of health brands, where they can engage this community and run special promotions, or trials for them.
Would that be a good idea ? If yes, what should be my approach ? Should I contact the brands directly, or should I approach the agencies ?
Do you know any other way on how to encash our FB efforts and get some return on it ?
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Puneet,
Nice connecting with you again!
Your posts get significant no. of Likes, Shares, Comments – that’s great! You also ask questions on your Facebook page to engage with your followers – that’s a healthy habit too.
Overall, I can see you are doing a great job. I believe that Facebook plays a passive but influential role in lead generation or sales; however, you can try this to get some direct sales.
These articles might look a bit promotional – you have to handle that carefully. You can try this and see how it goes; articles that you have been posting on your blog are pretty good – so you can have a mix of both the styles.

Hi Puneet,
Good to see your post as this is the exact problem that we are solving! While influencers (like you) are followed widely and can even influence the buying behavior of your followers but there is no way to monetize this. On the other hand, advertisers want to target the social media audience but are unable to get desired results with paid ads.
Therefore we started Fromote an influencer marketing platform that connects influencers with the advertisers. Advertisers create a project mentioning what they would like to promote (and from what kind of influencer) on social media and influencers bid on them.
It may be difficult for you to contact brands and digital agencies on your own for product placements on your page but it is very easy with fromote.com
All you have to do is search for projects as per your niche and submit your bid on them. You can even discuss the details of the campaign with the advertiser on our platform. Once you are awarded the project, advertiser puts money in escrow which is released to you when you post his content on your page.
I saw your page and feel that it has lot of potential. We already have few projects related to your niche, I am mentioning few of them in which you may be interested:

Hi Mansoor,
Thank you for your reply. Before posting my request, I had read about Fromote, and while it is a great resource, I couldn’t find anything which directly matched what Nirogam can offer its base. We want to associate with really good environment friendly, wellness-oriented products which do not sound like an advertisement at all.
But I will keep looking. Indeed Fromote is a good place to monitor. Thanks.

Dear Saikat,
Thanks a lot for all your suggestions. I have heard from a few other rodinhooders also that I should start promoting some of the products which we will. For example, we now have Chia seeds and have started selling them.
All of your suggestions are do-able and we will implement them soon. Thanks #Gratitude.
We just need to ensure that we don’t make these post sound sales-y.

Hi Ishani,
Congratulations on starting Fromote. Its a lovely resource, and a good problem solver for many like us.
However, considering Nirogam’s reach and engagement, we are looking for opportunities with a minimum payout of US$500 per promotion. Plus the product does not have to be connected with MLM. It also should sync well with Nirogam’s philosophy about alternative medicine, nutrition, and need for food supplements, and organic food.
I will keep tracking Fromote.

Have you tried contests?
Win small free stuff but helps create engagement?
Do you share posts that are NOT related to your content? Games2win grew that way on FB
Ishani
Thanks Puneet,
At Fromote, advertisers and influencers mutually decide the price and content of the promotion. You are free to bid what you like and can also discuss the content with the advertiser. You may not go ahead with something that you don’t like.. there is no compulsion.
We have few projects with budgets of $500-1000. Examples:
https://fromote.com/projects/entertainment/holy-cow-contest-2015/
https://fromote.com/projects/food/new-product-launch-leading-qsr/
Though they may not be related to your niche, but you can still register as an influencer and keep an eye on the projects related to your niche. While registering, you can also specify the categories for which you wish to be emailed as soon as a new project is posted under them.
Hope you find it useful
Cheers

Nope, I have never tried contests. Will scratch my head over it, and see if I can come up with some interesting ideas about contests. Try doing a few of those.
Nope – I have never shared UNRELATED posts. Let me look up Games2Win page, and see what kind of posts are you talking about.
Thank you Sir, for the insights. Always appreciate it.

Puneet,
Looked at the FB page and website. Comments and feedback.
1. CONTENT
Your mission is to promote healthy living via Ayurvedic products. So there should be in any hesitation in suggesting products which are available in your store, via the FB post or blog post. Infact it should be mandatory. Content w/o call to action is low ROI.
2. SHOP/COMMERCE
– shop tab on FB page does not work and is hidden. Think of how you can make it easy for users to buy.
– SHOP UI needs to be more elegant and premium, given the pricing of the products. product pics in the shop should ideally be hi-res. To see how a grocery e-commerce site can be stunning check out https://redmart.com/
– product Info should also include background of brand owner to inspire confidence. Not many people know about these brands.
You might want to explore engaging a social and e-commerce partner who can help you on this, while you focus on curating/creating content and sourcing relevant products for the shop.
All the best, asit
