Of most of the things that I have faced in my college life, one has always been getting a good GPA/percentage or at-least trying to get through the exams. And I presume I won’t be making much of an assumption when I say most of the college students face a similar problem.
Just to confirm my hypothesis, my team and I conducted a survey of 700 students in different engineering colleges. The motivation behind this was to figure out the reason why students think they aren’t able to get good GPA or clear the exams. Following turned out to be the biggest reasons:
- Not having the access to the right/required content – Most students start studying only before the exams. And when they do, they realize that they don’t have access to the required content. So they reach out to their friends and mates to ask for the required material. Getting access to the content is time consuming, especially before exams when the time is limited.
- Not knowing the exact components of the syllabus – After getting the access to the content, the next hurdle is to find if a topic is coming in the exam or not. What should be studied and what not is big matter of concern as time is a very limited resource just before the exams.
- Not having someone to clear doubts at the end moment – Once the students get to the task of reading through the content, they have doubts. Some of the students are fortunate to get them cleared from their peers, but some aren’t – the reason being – time constraint. Friends are not able to help because they are also caught up with studying their own material.
So we realized there needs to be a solution that provides the college students with:
- Real time access to the relevant content assembled according to the requirements of their syllabus.
- Provide a peer to peer interaction layer over the content that is made available – features like summary, group study, be-my-teacher etc.
- Introduce an innovative way to make the copyrighted content as affordable as possible for the students, as students don’t like to shell out money.
Therefore, my team and I are working on an eLearning platform that introduces the above solutions and guarantees college students with an increase in their GPA/precentage. We have named it Learnifi (spelt as Learn-if-i). Our business model is to charge students for the value addition that we are providing to them, and not for the copyrighted content.
Following are some of the screenshots of the platform:

Please help us with your feedback:
This is my first post on TheRodinhoods platform. Although I have been a regular visitor to most of the discussions, blogs – mostly Alok sir’s poetry, I haven’t really contributed with any content or been helpful with my suggestions. And yet I have this ironic expectation that people here will help me with their feedback. But I assure you that in future I would chip in with my views as well.
Please help me with your suggestions/viewpoints/critiques.
Thank you for taking out time to read this post.
