Thank you Teams Delhi & Bangalore!

November was the month of Rodinhooding! Yeah… when it rains it pours!!! We actually had two Open Houses – one in Delhi & one in Bangalore, just a week apart!

Nov 9 Delhi: We had a spectacular Open House at IIT Delhi (despite the late announcement and Diwali distractions!!). Around 180 people attended. Instead of our customary 3 hours, we stretched it to 4 and still couldn’t have enough. Read this awesome summary here in case you missed being there! Check out the pix and do go through some of the presentations made that day:

This awesomeness was possible only owing to Team Delhi’s efforts.

Credit goes to:

Kaanchan Bugga & Arvind Bugga – for being our sutradhars, without whom, we wouldn’t have got this prestigious venue. [We are grateful to IIT Delhi Alumni Association for co-hosting & co-sponsoring us. And we look forward to their continued support in the future…]

Abhik: For anchoring the event

Anamika: For creating the master presentation + social media support

Gurpreet: For being the coolie cum-mic-runner 🙂 – (just kidding – he was the venue co-ordinator)

Tarun & Syed & Gargee: For capturing such great memories of the event

Pranav: For all the last minute running around and being my Twitter knight!

Amit: For his moral & twitter support

Arpit: For assisting Alok’s little AOY assistant 🙂

Sureshji: For his constant behind-the-scenes support

Vinay: for social media support – he is the one who continuously updated the trhs fb page with event pix being shared from all over…(for both Delhi & B’lore)

And of course, EVERYONE present there for creating a magical evening!

Nov 16: Bangalore: 148 enterprising youngsters totally rocked the Yahoo house!!! We had Alok’s VC Ash Lilani with us who in turn brought his Investor, Katy (who was on her first visit to India)! Never before had our Rodinhooders of Bangalore witnessed such down to earth, honest dialogue with VCs of such stature!

And yes, Alok made a presentation which you can watch here

The photo album can be viewed here and you can go through a couple of presentations as well –

Again, all credit goes to Team Bangalore

Kudos to –

Yahoo – our Venue Partner who was the most awesome host – they served tea/coffee/snacks on the house! Thank you ever so much team Yahoo!

Prashant – who has the energy of a product, platform & service put together 🙂 – for venue co-ordination, anchoring as well as putting the show together + social media support

Sourish & Asutosh for capturing that amazing Saturday afternoon

Puneet – for all his backend co-ordination

Shilpi – for co-anchoring the event

Natwar – for social media & backend support and his pro-activeness that sparked the idea!

Abhash – for being the twitter king!

Neha – for being Alok’s AOY assistant

And Vinit Bhansali – for so kindly arranging his car & driver to rush Alok & me to the airport when our cabbie ditched us!!!

AND ALL OF YOU ENTHU FOLKS WHO TOTALLY ROCKED THE PARTY!

Ash Lilani had some very goosebumpy words to share with us. Quoting him: “When you go to therodinhoods site, you will see that it has grown way beyond Alok…. it has become a movement…”

In our endeavour to be “for the community and by community” every city will have its own organising team of rodinhooder volunteers (which will constantly evolve) and everyone will get a chance to contribute to the making of an Open House or a Meet-up! So if you would like to be a part of any city organising team – simply comment below (or write to me at asha@rodinhood.com) mentioning your city and what your area of expertise is. I will be more than happy to connect you with the concerned team. We will always need anchors, venue co-ordinators, photographers, sound system specialists, content curators, ppt specialists, social media enthusiasts, event reporters…. Just tell us what you want to do – we are open to ideas and people who want to execute them!

Guess what?!

Other cities like Nagpur, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune & Indore have shown interest in starting their own chapters… Pune just had their first #CoffeeMeet (thank you Mandar for enabling a brief google hangout – it was awesome to say hey! to all of you!!)

The Indore gang will have a #CoffeeMeet on the 15th! The idea is for rodinhooders to connect with each other and exchange ideas. Having regular meet-ups once in a couple of months would perhaps address some of your issues. At the end of the day, it’s about helping each other learn and grow. And in the process fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship…!

ps: We’re planning a Mumbai Open House in Jan/Feb. Post follows soon. Yep… we are looking for volunteers to steer it! Stay tuned…

  1. It was such a content feeling to organize an open house for the first time ever.

There must have been some glitches for sure, and believe us when we say that – we know wherever we could have improved.

So next time, when we have an open house, you can expect from us all a more organized and structured event with more entrepreneurial minds turning up just to soak in the fun and enthusiasm of being among rodinhooders!

  2. glitches are good, naa anamika? otherwise the world would be a perfectly boring place 🙂

we really had a memorable evening! thank you!!

  3. Wonderful Evening it was. And nothing would have been possible without Alo Sir’s and Asha Jee’s Efforts and Guidance.

We are fortunate to be a small part of such a Wonderful Initiative.

And yeah COOLie Sounds COOL!!! 🙂

  4. It was my first open house and this is what I concluded:

Rodinhooding! – how many such entrepreneurial verbs can one recall in India? Think hard. So far I understand – Rodinhood is the best push for Per Capita Startup and should I say It’s the mother of all Per Capita.(Per capita income, per capita patent,…..and so on)

So, thank you Team Delhi ! Thank you Rodinhood.

    Long live rodinhooders!
