The Best Place To Work

Hello,

As a person interested in work cultures, start-up environments and motivating people, I found something interesting today. C-suites always have a tendency to put human resources issue on the back burner while working out the daily issues. This in turn will harm the future of the organization if your folks are not motivated in their daily work environment. So in this spirit, I would like to share the below.

Recently I read online about Asia’s best multinational workplaces 2015. Here is the link for those of you who are interested.

Top 10 workplaces

I think it is interesting to note that none of the top 10 are actually headquartered (read founded) in Asia. They are established elsewhere. The top paragraph in the link above reads:

The Best Workplaces in Asia list recognizes organizations in the Asia region that are dedicated to sustaining high-trust cultures for their employees. These workplaces are distinguished by their extraordinary levels of trust, pride, and camaraderie. Putting their people first is a key priority for these companies and it is this commitment to providing strong, caring, and innovative cultures that we celebrate with our Best Workplaces in Asia list.”

What is wrong with the Asian companies? India has multinationals as well, but why isn’t any listed in the top 10?

So I thought of assigning you entrepreneurs homework:

1) Read the paragraph above taken from the website.

2) Reflect on that and think what are you doing in your start-up/organization to attain a spot in the top 10 workplaces.

3) If you are not doing anything, figure out why. Also, think of changes you can make. Entrepreneurs think a lot about the product (product engineering) but what about your asset (asset engineering?) aka humans?

4) What are your thoughts on arranging a competition for start-ups on rodinhoods to rank by workplaces to work for?

Please do write your comment/feedback.

Thank you for taking the time!

Just shocked to see  SBI made it to the list and not recent start-ups in the country!!! I think the list speaks for itself as it is more in the order of best salary to most stability. Is that all we care for?

Apparently Google and other intl companies are on the list because of “Google Pvt. Ltd” and such “Indian” companies.
