The Story of Four Friends: Ultakart, Kharidlo, ChandSitare, Dabang!!

There were four close friends. Lets call them A, B, C and D. All four were brilliant in studies, always dreamt big, thought of doing something of their own and never work for someone else. While they were close, all four had diametrically different ideas and views on how things are to be done. In order to preserve their friendship, they decided that they will always work separately and be friends…

Time passed. Technology, marketplace changed. Many opportunities came and went. These friends too slowly lost touch with each other with time. Years later they all happen to be at a common party. What a sight it was!! Hugging, cheering, drinking partying curious to know what each of the others did over the years. Slowly as the drinks took their effect and they slumped together in a corner, they started discussing about what happened to each other over these years. A started off…

A: What to tell yaar! All those lofty ideas of never to work for others vanished when Amazon made an offer which I thought I could not earn even in a full year. Not able to hold my watering mouth any more, I was barely able to say yes and was willing to join the very next moment. They positioned me overseas since India was hardly happening. But no one noticed when things changed. E-commerce had taken the first steps in the country and was ready to fly. I being an Indian and with domain knowledge in the field was sent back to carry out market survey, set up logistics and software part. When I started doing so, I found it quite interesting, easy and doable! A Nasty idea had re-germinated in my mind. Why do it for Amazon, might as well do all the homework while still on their payroll so that the salaries continue to flow and once I am ready to do it on my own, will tell them B***s. dirty but workable. Eventually it was time to ditch and start off my own. Told my bosses, sorry, I cheated on you, took the idea with which you sent me back and now doing my own thing with that. Since I copied your ideas and toppled your plans to do online business here, in memory of all the support you have provided me, I wish to dedicate the name of my new venture to you people. And we would call it Ultacart. Why so? Cause I flipped your India plans upside down. Hehe.

Hence started my own venture. Started selling with low value items since liquidity and capital was an issue. Looking around, I found used newspapers and Rum and beer bottles to be the perfect start material. They were cheap and available in abundance especially here in Bangalore. Hee hee.

When he looked around he suddenly realised all his friends are far asleep. Shaking them up, he admonished them for being so discourteous to his story of hardwork, originality and success, but B rebutted saying there is hardly anything interesting. It is then that A disclosed he later found a fool to buy his business when he told them that the Beer bottles that he sent through the courier turned into gold bars by the time it reached the customers. Now suddenly everyone was awake. When asked how could he pull it off and how much did he sell it out for, A giggled and said that he got his company valued at a price which will never touch even the most optimistic total earnings for the next 100 years from the business. Now this got all his friends worked up again and urged him to tell the details…

…and the details did follow but in another write up….

PS: This is an imaginary story with no relevance to actual incidents or otherwise. Meant for light hearted reading. J
