TheRodinhoods style ass kicking advice to entrepreneurs!!

At the Mumbai TIE Smash up event in April, 2013, rodinhooders were heard giving some ass kicking advice to one another and receiving it as well, from the best in the industry!

The central idea of the event was to share learnings and help one another from collective experience.

We painted the event a shade of- ‘therodinhoods’!!! Check out the video!!

Everywhere we looked at the venue, we found members of our community!! Some presented, some volunteered, some listened and everyone had a great time together. We also managed to ask our members  what was the most ass kicking advise they got and received whacky answers. Watch this video and you will know. -:))))

Alok shared a very interesting  “math of entrepreneurship”. If you understand the 3 simple rules of Passion + Effort + Idea, you are certainly headed in the direction of awesomeness..-:)))

This is the first video in the series of “therodinhoods files”. We will continue to share our on ground experience especially with those who are sitting in far away towns and cities. We receive stunning contributions from all of you and hope that these videos will be another medium to help us know each other better.

This is what “the gang” looked like:

Here is a quick glimpse of what else happened at the event

Anything is possible!!

There was an act by mystician Ugesh Sarcar’s team of “I am possible magic”, an initiative to teach magic to the differently abled. While many of us complain about lack of funds, insufficient resources or are simply demotivated…we witnessed two brilliant magicians who made us forget that there was anything “differently abled” about them, except the fact that they were phenomenal! One of them- Vinod Rawat had climbed the Himalayas upto 22,000 feet with an artificial leg, is a paralympian and even featured in the Hero Honda commercials!!  Truly, inspirational.

The Kick Ass panel

Alok Kejriwal, Vishal Gondal and Mahesh Murthy shared their experiences of what they did right and wrong during early years of business. One thing which remained common to all three was that when something didn’t work, they ADAPTED. They worked to find a solution or serve another market need. They answered questions from the audience who wanted to know what are the most common mistakes made by start-ups in their first year.

There was a Smasher contest where  these experts mentored 2 teams each to present their business plan. And 3 entrepreneurs amongst these were rodinhooders!! Vijay Kubchandani, Hitesh Bhatia and Puneet Sharma shared their ideas.

Alok’s team- Cruise Club, won the competition.

In a very well put across statement, Kanchan Kumar, Executive Director, TIE Mumbai said- “There comes a time when platforms dont matter as much. Purpose becomes bigger than the medium. Whether it therodinhoods or TIE, its amazing to see entrepreneurs from different groups come together, help each other and become one strong community.”

Special thanks!!

Kanchan Kumar– who didn’t mind us literally hijacking the event and allowing us to capture these fun moments.

Vishal Gondal– you were such a sport. I stalked him all over the venue, followed him in and out of places until I think he just got fed up and shared some invaluable inputs…:)))

Prathamesh Krisang– you rocked!! Thank you for conspiring and planning out things- overnight!!! It was fun working with you even if I made you run around the entire venue 236 times!! You did a superb job of the video and the pictures!

All others who gave their sound bytes..whether happily, voluntarily, because of being stalked, threatened or forced..please send us your feedback!!

Start Thinking. Begin Doing. Be a Rodinhood.
