A bunch of really young boys wanted to join the Monastery and appeared before Sensei and the monks this morning.
Sensei lovingly asked each one of them why they wanted to be a part of the Monastery.
The first one said, “Because my father told me that it is the best thing for me.”
Sensei nodded.
The second boy hesitated and said, “My mother told me that becoming a monk would help me wash away my bad karmas…”
Sensei chuckled.
The third boy – the youngest amongst them said, “Because I love the orange robes and the shaven heads of the monks. They keep laughing; so they must be playing a lot! I want to be happy…”
Sensei clapped twice when he heard this and ensured all the boys were given sweets and some money. The young boy got a special orange robe as a prize!
Then Sensei said, “Never let anyone; be it your mother or father tell you where to find happiness. Only follow your heart. The heart knows best…”
