I’m a first year student at Jadavpur University. I have been following a lot of exciting startups, however, I would like to start something very simple which would gain me experience in the startup world. I am planning to start an entertainment website which would garner lots of viewers. Is it still viable to open up an entertainment website involving trailers, teasers, news, reviews etc?
Other websites like Letsbud.com & Koimoi.com claim to have received approximately 15,000 visitors in their first month.

Funnily, I am the VC of koimoi.com and also the original founding partner.
Its taken a long, tedious and expensive path to reach to 300,000 users a day now 🙂
Koimoi just about breaks even and has consumed more than 1.5 cr in funding (my personal)
Its a tough business and unless you have something amazing on your side (the scooopwhoop partners had creative writing experience gained at webchutney and also webchutney founder backing), I would avoid content plays…
