Around a year ago, I took a road trip from Navi Mumbai (where I live currently) to Jaipur/Alwar (my home cities).
Visited several places enroute notable among them being:
- Akshardham in Gandhinagar (Gujarat)
- Delwara Temples in Mt. Abu, Rajasthan
- Lake Nakki, Mt. Abu (man made lake)
- City Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan
- Tower of Victory at Chittorgarh, Rajasthan
All of these are breathtaking marvels. And the most interesting part is that they were built or made over years.
You need to see/visit these places to understand what would it have taken to create these masterpieces.
The Laser, Sound, Fountain show at Akshardham is nothing less than world class.
It took 14 years to build the Delwara temples.
The City Palace, Udaipur is a result of over 400 years of construction and yet it maintains symmetry of architecture.
The Tower of Victory took 10 years to build. It was to commemorate the victory of wars which put together lasted less than 10 years.
I am sure it took phenomenal vision, patience and courage on the part of their creators to build them and we marvel at them even today.
In comparison, where do we stand.
In terms of vision, we only tend to see the next 10 meters and our patience and courage run out like water from a leaking tap. Sounds scathing but is it otherwise!
Having said that, these outstanding marvels remind us that it is possible for us to do something as extraordinary.
We need to think big and beyond, hold our attention and imagination and focus them in a way that it results in great work.
As an entrepreneur, what would you combine your vision and patience for?
