Want to know about this model of Voice chat apps

Hello Friends,

This may sound quite amateur especially when all around (almost) here are Tech Entrepreneurs and that also gives me hope to get right perspective of this

I really fail to understand how this economics of App of Voice chats work like Wechat, line etc when they come for free on Google App Store and don’t think telecom service providers pay them for data exchanged or they do ??? I got this question for this service and no for other free Apps availabe on this platforms of Android & ios after looking at those TV Commercials with filmstars and others few running for more than 30 secs How can they afford to have such an expensive medium of advertisements

so please do share how their economics work and how this can easily be affordable for such companies…I am not at all aware of status of these companies so don’t know if they are subsidies of big corporate or telecom service providers  or these are start ups/seasoned App companies

Hope to get light on this topic from this platform

Anyway, we currently do not generate revenues. In the future, we will offer additional, premium services, that we will charge for.

Current services will remain free. Forever. It’s what’s commonly referred to as a “freemium” model.

Apart from this, I remember Alok sir quoting somewhere that users are the future denominations for cash. These companies bank on the fact that they would collect huge database of users and then aim for a 1-2%conversion on premium services.

Rest, would love to hear from other users on how these things actually work? And when are they expected to break even..
