Define Fashion….what does a fashion magazine is supposed to look like targeted for Indian mass???
I and my friend are planning to start a “Fashion and Lifestyle Magazine” very soon.We have been thinking about the same for months but finally we came up with the ingredients to play with.
What & Why: We are thinking to do it with a leading newspaper as a supplement magazine weekly. Our major focus will be ongoing fashion trend of the town and our target reader will be the mass. In order to reach our magazines to the maximum number of readers we consider clubbing with a newspaper will be better since it is the medium that reaches the most of Indian population..in short newspaper reaches the mass.At the very same time picking up a lavish fashion magazine from the store disturbs the financial state of a middle class man who wants to be updated but at times cannot afford to. the There are lots of Fashion and Lifestyle magazines available but their contents are hardly reachable to a normal person. They are mostly of international standards, say it Vogue, GQ, Elle..etc. Now here we want to launch something that contains regular casual trend which a normal guy can relate to. We can include certain fashion tips that are unaware by the regular mass but he or she can adapt the same.
Inside : By keeping in mind the mass of the country we are planning to design the magazine in a way that a normal person can acclimatize. The contents of the magazine will be broadly classified in three different sections- Fashion, Bollywood and Lifestyle.
The Fashion section includes ongoing trends in the town for both male and female; covering stories of successful, upcoming and struggling models/fashion designers. Interviews of designer; paparazzi/glimpse from fashion shows and also featuring the trend for the festive season. In addition to this we will be doing hair styles and latest accessories. We will also showcase outfits from different stores in the town including some renowned street shops too and sum up the best of them.
Then comes our Bollywood section which includes upcoming release of the month and reviews of the released movies. Interviewing bollywood actors and filmmakers; covering upcoming actors and filmmakers. Remarkable fashion statement in bollywood and fashion disaster; itsy bitsy bollywood gossip.
Lastly the Lifestyle column. It includes tourism, we are going to explore and capture some of the most amazing destinations of our planet. Since we both are foodie, we would definitely add various cuisines of the world and also focus on their folk culture. Distinctive genres of music are another part we would like to add in our lifestyle section. Latest gadgets in the market; covering the interesting technical knowledge and health/fitness are some other aspects of the magazine.
Fashion will be our prime focus always since we generally call it as a fashion magazine. Our cover stories will be always something related to fashion or the fashionista. Bollywood and Lifestyle are other extensions of the magazine.
