Fun

What Co-Founders can learn from Calvin and Hobbes

We all love the comic strip by Bill Watterson about a 6 year old boy Calvin who had a toy tiger Hobbes and their adventures in dreamland!

Calvin and Hobbes adventures and acts can be really funny , witty as well as inspiring for entrepreneurs.

These two buddies make witty strategies , plan adventures , enjoy the fun , at times fight , laugh together , play tricks on each other , enjoy the games. In a way that symbolizes an example of two perfectly made for each other co-founders!!

So what can we learn from them?

Start-up is tough journey , you need to balance a lot of things on the way and yet smile during the troubled times!

It is all about the balance act

Explore the unknown territories , do not be afraid of new challenges and rough conditions ahead..

Enjoy the work , after all what’s the point of starting up if you don’t.

Enjoy every bit of it.. just like your first rain dance as a child.

Contemplate , discuss things beyond work , spend time together.

Listen and give space to each other. Respect opinions!!

Fight , Debate , exchange some blows

And  Do care for each other too..

Have fun together , dance together , go wild !!

Founders who can’t have fun together , rarely stick around

Laugh together over silly jokes , investor turn downs , goof ups..

After all the life otherwise will get too serious to enjoy the ride.

Enjoy the results ,even the small accomplishments .

Celebrate success , it keeps you motivated

After all no problem is big enough for right co founders , isn’t it ?

  1. Mukesh, I read your most. But i feel its difficult to form a team similar to Rocket Sales Cooperation. Everyone would try to do it. But if you recall each one had equal share in business and initially working without any profile or pay.

Its very difficult to team up with people who are looking beyond pay. In my 14yrs of career I have not found such people, every looks at pay without looking at an opportunity to grow.

If you are big, you will find people willing to join but if you are a startup its difficult, specially if the team members are married and grownup.

Like if I ask you to join my organization without any pay but with share in profile, will you do specially if i am a startup.

So reality and films are totally different and cannot be compared!

  2. Brilliant!!

Laughing and celebrating together is the core to the long term relationship.

    Thanks & Regards
