I hear lots of statistics bandied about, don’t know what is true, and what to trust. I’ve heard 90million internet users of which only about 40 seem to be accessing on laptops. That begs the question,
Q) Do people buy e-commerce on their mobile?
I’ve heard people talk about e-commerce is done mostly in metros. Yet in talking to one or two people, it seems e-com is well represented in 2nd-3rd tier cities.
Q) What are the demographics of people who purchase (beyond just airline ticks and movie shows)?
I’ve also heard that the number of Credit Cards has actually decreased in the last three years. That the total number of CC’s is around 20 million. Of course people refer to 200 million bank accounts, which prob means about the same number of Debit Cards, but those are issued by default, what subset have actually been used for a transaction other than drawing cash.
any insights would be useful.

It would be great if someone could offer real validation that a considerable number of Indians are using credit cards for ecommerce. bump
