Xtendify – A Marketplace for Plugins and Themes

Hey Rodinhooders,

We want to let you about our startup Xtendify and gather your feedback.

Xtendify is a marketplace for plugins and themes for all major CMS platforms like – WordPress, Prestashop, Magento, Opencart, Bootstrap etc.

What is a CMS?

A quick introduction about WordPress (others are similar). WordPress is a open source blogging platform built with PHP / MySQL. It can be used to host a blogging site, a company website, an e-commerce shop and basically anything, did I mention that its super powerful. It is fueled by Plugins and Themes which are developed by individuals and companies around the world which can be sold on Xtendify. You can earn hefty commission by developing and selling plugins/themes (read on).

Why us?

Our main USP is the commission charged by the marketplace – just 25% (including payment gateway charges). Apart from this, we do not ask any seller to be exclusive with us, giving freedom which the community desperately needs.

How are we doing?

We opened our operations around 6 months ago and are already boasting around 250 items in the marketplace submitted by more than 200 developers. While we know that its hard for any developer to trust a new marketplace; more due to the nature of business – more the items, more are the sales and more developers are attracted towards us – we believe we are getting to the that point gradually.

We need your support!

If you are plugin / theme author, please checkout the marketplace and our sleek seller area as well. All we want is a honest feedback and of course, let your friends know if you like it.

  1. Dear Vikas

Nice to see this effort from a homegrown entrepreneur 🙂 Its a step in the right direction IMHO. The only similar website I can currently think of is Envato / Themeforest which I have used a few times. I shall definitely use Xtendify and share my experience with you. You could also try to make it more India-specific by showing pricing in Rs. to begin with 🙂

An interesting addition would be to create a separate Freelancer Developer network who can help consumers integrate these plugins / themes in websites. This would ensure Xtendify is not limited to developers alone and also reaching out to end consumers who are looking for a complete range of services. Also, once end consumer visitors increase, it would also lead to more Developers coming to you for work or to list their themes / plugins.

    All the best!

  2. Thanks Jitendra for the detailed suggestions. 1) We have already implemented INR 🙂 (although currency auto-select based on geolocation is work in progress) 2) Very nice suggestion – our team is already working on the “jobs” section which is exactly what you described. We are aiming to launch this by end of this month. We already have many developers signed up with us, so hoping to use that base as a starting point.
