Your cell phone is slowly killing you as it lies within a feet!

NO: This is not just another post on how microwaves cook your brain!

This is what started as an interest, an empathy and a social cause that put me in “The Original Rodinhood – Alok’s house!!”

I was there with an instrument and a process that I had practised a few times before, but was confident because my principal (inventor of our product) believed that I did not require any training as I was passionate about what I was doing and getting it right was paramount.

A gadget that records high intensity electro magnetic radio (EMR) waves which I had to make sure was pointing north while it recorded any bursts of radiation within a house where children and 60+ people are prone to absorb 40% of the radiation! The burst that I was looking for was 1000+ microwatts/sq cm of EMR which according to WHO fact sheet #263 has been a cause for cancer / skin irritation / fatigue and hypersensitivity in several countries across the world. According to WHO these effects are felt when the radiation crosses 40 microwatts/sq cm of continuous exposure!

The Indian Govt believes that this scientific evidence available in western countries is not conclusive to reduce the radiation effects of cell phone towers placed in every corner of your city. Hence the prescribed limit is still 450 milliwatts / sq m: Times of India Dt: 5th Oct 2012 . This prescribed limit is as low as 0.0001 milliwatts/sq cm in Australia since 2010! and 1 milliwatt/sq cm in China!!

I have been studying cell tower radiation for a year now and was very keen to carry out a solution which has been developed by a close friend. This solution cuts down the radiation inside a home by 99%.

However, in order to carry this idea through in Mumbai, it requires me to make an investment and devote time and effort. I currently run a startup called Digicat and venturing into another one called www.i2cook.com. Both these ventures have no loans or outstandings against them.

So in order to save lives in Mumbai I would need your help to invest and form a small team to carry out this solution in trying to reduce the harmful effects of cell tower radiation.

Risk Factors: The govt may decide to completely reduce the radiation norms. However the change of towers already installed may take over the next five years!
