In my recent visit to Srilanka, I saw travel comm site findmyfare.com marketing its zero interest EMI schemes/free one installment in ticketing and hotel booking. In India, though RBI has now banned subventions and zero percent loans, I was wondering before this RBI notification why such schemes were offered for only purchase of consumer goods and not in the travel commerce space.

But after the RBI regulation, EMIs are not free now.

Surely not in ticketing, but in holiday packages they have huge margins and should be able to offer zero emi schemes. Don’t you think so?
